Wow, it's really nice to have one of these that can actually quite effectively be thrown in front of attackers.

It's kind of sad how much more efficient this uncommon wall is for killing players than a mythic like firemind's research. Same CMC, still 1 damage per spell, no activation cost.

In the right context, it almost works like a Grapeshot, gaining the vulnerability of creature-dom but losing the normal vulnerability to counterspells on the turn you finally go off. Not as good but I can see some parallels.

I kind of agree with your sentiment about this card although I don't think it is "sad". This set has some amazing uncommons in it. The job of a mythic rare IMO (I am a casual player so I don't expect more competitive players that are into the tournament scene to agree with me on this)is not so much to be good but neat and have some sort or really unique effect on the game.
