I hate these kind of Aftermath cards. Most show an obvious progression, where if you use one right after the other, you get additional value. The effects feed into each other.
This one doesn't, and that's dumb. It's just two cards strapped together that don't interact at all.
Maybe they were thinking of Swords to Plowshares. But, you're absolutely right. Farm should have something to do with getting a Land or something non-killy. I guess you could really stretch it at claim that the farmer killed a guy to use him as fertilizer...but, c'mon.
I agree that these sorts of cards should play off each other. In addition, it feels like a huge flavor fail. WTF does killing something have to do with farming? Nothing directly. This should have been called something like "protect."
