The strength of this card depends on how much life they have to pay. I am hoping for 3 however im expecting 2. Regardless, this card could be decent in standard just because it is either card advantage or loss of life. The fact that your opponent gets to choose does weaken it a bit. It will probably test it to replace my Painful Truths

I absolutely agree. The reveal really kills any chance of this card being good. If it said draw a card unless an opponent pays 4 life. repeat this process an additional two times. That would be okay. But they basically get to choose what you get which makes this worse than browbeat. And trust me, browbeat is not modern playable, no matter how hard I try.

That would be 5 or 6 life per card, though. At that point it's not even giving your opponent an option to eat your card draw to the face, because we're talking 15 to 18 damage, and drawing 2 lands and having your opponent pay 6 life to exile a nonland isn't a bad worst case scenario either.

If it's 2 life or 3 life on this effect, I like Painful Truths much more. If it's 4 life, I don't know.

Hmm, actually, you choose the card(s) you'll put in your hand (if there are at least 1 card to take) and then exile the rest, so isn't that bad if they have to pay about 4 life per card. Let's wait until the amount is revealed.
