It’s a better Ball Lightning with a more unstable mana cost

True. I only run Ball Lightning in my mono-red burn currently, but if you’re playing Rakdos, and it’s turn three and you haven’t gotten any black mana, you’ve got bigger problems.

Ball *Blightning with an imbalanced mana cost. I'm not sure BRR is more unstable than RRR either. It requires you play at least two colors, but two mana of one color when playing two colors is much easier than three mana of one color when playing two colors.

Ball Lightning is unplayable by today's standards in all formats (well, who knows about Standard, where it's not legal anyway), but adding discard without increasing the CMC is certainly an interesting proposal on making it viable.

The name is funny and weird.

Does it bother anyone else that its a Skeleton Elemental instead of Elemental Skeleton?

Oh, ok. I think it should be a Skeleton Elemental because it's name is Skelemental and consistency is good. Viashino Skeleton should be a Viashino Skeleton, and Vampire Bats should be a Vampire Bat (wait, maybe not)

It was skeleton elemental at time of my original post I swear.

Lol I was going to say the same thing. It certainly does not flow... But because of their naming conventions in the game they have to have the "species" first and then the class. its a thing.
