The Ixalan's Binding thing also resembles it, and one of the more interesting theories points to Azor himself having come to Ixalan. In that theory, Azor is the "winged beast" that carried away the Immortal Sun.

This card will be fun in Eldrazi Tron and various other Tron variants.

Is it just me, or is this just a horribly designed card. It feels like WotC rolled a die and grabbed whatever abilities rolled up on this. The abilities have little to no synergy, 1 ability is symmetrical the rest aren't.

It was made for commander given it does literally everything you want a utility card in that format to do. It hoses common decks like superfriends, It accelerates you mana (though it is a bit expensive to do the job well), it boosts your creatures, and it draws cards.

It already has a home in my Avacyn, Angel of Hope commander deck as jumping from 6 to 7 matters to the deck. White is always looking for card draw, runs very few planeswalkers yet there are a few that causes it problems, and well the +1/+1 on my few creatures doesn't really matter, but is nice given it is strictly a bonus.

My wizards could use it to given at times it swarms the battlefield and love casting multiple spells a turn on multiple players turns. Hosing planeswalkers (which the deck doesn't run) and drawing cards are just strong bonuses.

The card isn't over powered but it does so much that it will see play in commander. Not every card is made for standard, and that is a good thing.

It's also rather flavorful, representing all the aspects of the Threefold Sun: the Wakening Sun (drawing additional cards at the beginning), the Verdant Sun (creatures getting stronger), and the Burning Sun (magic flowing more easily and fiercely). I mean, I suppose you could switch the Verdant and Burning attributions, but either way, the artifact's effects perfectly match the flavor of the plane.

Looks like the card was designed to be an overall "improve every zone" type of card. If you managed to drop it, the card would function if you were board wiped, were unable to draw cards, or were somehow strapped for mana.

It is very similar to Mirari's Wake, which is a very good card in its own right.

With the "planeswalkers are legends rule" and all the recent legendary artifacts I'm beginning to think that someone in WotC has a Captain Sisay EDH deck.

You ascend to the highest temple of Orazca, and here is your prize, to wield forever... a rather vulnerable, overcosted, anti-synergistic boondoggle. Flavor win, though.
