The thing I hate so much about red hosers that white gets is that they are overwhelmingly and crushingly powerful. Considering Wizards doesn't like harsh hosers, it makes me quite vexed as a red player how white can get cards like BFT to curb stomp red decks into the ground.
I think Maro said that they were going to complete a rare cycle that people have been waiting for for a long time. I don't know if he said land cycle but what else could it be?
ABC
All But Confirmed.
EDIT: I meant to say "Enemy FETCH lands."
This is one of those situations where people assume what they want to come true (wishful thinking) because all other ideas they can think of seem less likely by comparison (the wishful thinking squelching other ideas).
In lieu of filling out a bio, I'll be answering one question from each member about myself, as long a they don't get too personal. It's a much more active way to learn about you leader methinks, and I'm far too lazy to fill that thing out in one sitting.
How large is your...Magic collection?
In lieu of asking a boring question: Do you think you have ever been in love, and if so, what were the circumstances?
I've found that there is a little restriction on deck pondering with the the new set in the standard forum, so I will impose it here, which is not the standard forum..........
So the Apprentice of ElementalSynthesis presumes to initiate change in the Clan...do we Terminate?
Seriously though, that restriction is in place because speculation should be no part of a discussion area that is focused on what is possible and playable in Constructed given the cards that are legal in the formats in question. In a Clan, we are free to talk about anything that's legal in the areas in which we live.
With the coming of zendikar I've come to realize that i want to build a mono-black deck. I've wanted to due it since conflux but have had little support from wizards of the coast. after looking at the spoiler I find that I may go mono black vampire, which is just such an obvious build me ploy. but do you think it's viable??????

terminate is better than unstabble mutation! I know that if it was open discussion on the forums for standard it would overwhelm the board with large quantities of "what if" posts, and for my defense at least it's not a green deck????????
Kepper: Dota will ruin your life. Take my advice(The 8 mental disorder person with scitzofrenia) Do't play it too much. Otherwise you will start being delusional. Happend to me. I'll explain later.
Landfall seems particularly nuts on the new Ichorid guy. Talk about power creep.
And I am going to check out the rumor mill to confirm my suspicions about fetch lands. I need some more certitude to back up my belief now that AI is throwing doubt into the equation.

It's almost as if Niv cloned himself or something.
I honestly have no idea what this paragraph is trying to say.

Making it unable to block is very relevant, though. If an opponent has a source of repeatable damage and isn't below 10 life, it's not really a threat, though it's certainly a nuisance.
I wonder how far the "less than 10 life" mechanic will be pushed. It has some very interesting potential as a drawback/bonus ability.

I did not think "certitude" was a word. I guess you do learn something new (and useless) every day.
Also, Doubt!

I think the guy's CA will make him pretty bomby in limited. I don't see him having a home in type 2 though.

Well, i don't. I play it frequently, unlike this guy I know who plays it almost everyday.
After working all summer without having to worry about classes, I'm having trouble hitting the books. I go to class and all, but when I'm at home I sit on MTGS all day instead of reading. I need to work on this...

Indeed, the lure of the community. It's addictive, i tell you. But in time you will learn to resist. Damn, did I just talk like a prophet or something?
Anyway, exams are over for me. and i think i did well enough. so off to the second term!
Indeed, the lure of the community. It's addictive, i tell you. But in time you will learn to resist. Damn, did I just talk like a prophet or something? :weird1:
Only like this one.
Yeah, studying should come first...but it doesn't always.
@AI: work on it? No, you've only just honed your lurking behaviors to their appropriate levels. Don't lose your skills!
Do you remember the summer after I joined? I literally did nothing but sit on MTGS all day...I was the Keeper of 2007, with regards to [The Izzet] at least.
And I think it would be pretty lame if they try to pass off the "under 10 life" mechanic as the reason they took out mana burn.
Actually that mechanic only works if an opponent has less than 10 life (the flavor being that vampires get stronger when they sense weakness in their prey, I assume).
Right. That's why I think it would be pretty lame since it doesn't really work that way at all.
But since it's so obvious that it doesn't work that way, there's no way that they will use it as an excuse...although they did mention that them removing mana burn allowed a mechanic to be printed in this set. (Or was it "block?" :uhh:) It seems like it would be this one they were referring to except for the fact that it doesn't make sense, knowing what we know.
Seriously? If this were the only fetchland printed in Zendikar, I'm pretty sure Wizards would receive more than their fair share of these.
Not to mention, all of us Izzet would send a legion of weirds to tear their building apart, then reverse-time-bomb the rubble back to the ****ing Stone Age.
Yeah about the weireds. The sorta disintergrated when i flicked the water switch.
Who the **** let you in the weird holding area?
Now I have to resynthesize all of the weirds before the other High Mages need them again!
I really wish I could afford to buy a box of Zendikar, if only for a superspecialawesome UR fetch. Unfortunately, school and rent are expensive as hell...and food isn't cheap either.

now that i'm here, no one can be the Keeper besides me.
The card is not that useful, for me at least. but if you remove the pay 1 life part, it could be.
Alright, I've received the green light, so here's a (hopefully) well-along draft:
Clan Contest #4:
Scavenger Hunt!
Twenty items (every one's favorite starting life total!) of unique, silly, random, and/or esoteric nature will be posted in the official Clan Contest #4 thread (to be created soon, ideally this coming week).
Goal:To provide images (personal or public) gathered in various ways (personal camera + upload is presumably ideal, though there are some very funny and unique images out there on the great internet) of each scavenger hunt item, and receive points related to both effort and creativity. Oh and don't forget to have fun!
Participants: Each clan, of course. However: each clan will choose a representative (I will ask you for your representatives in the Clan Contest #4 thread before the contest officially begins), and only that representative is allowed to PM me their clan's final collection of images for the contest before the deadline is up.
How to submit your images: Only one image allowed per scavenger hunt item. Discuss among yourselves in your clans; work within your clans to gather your images; compare multiple ones you have for the same scavenger hunt item and vote on the one you want, etc. Do whatever you want to do among yourselves to acquire these images (other than simply sneaking into other clans' threads and stealing theirs! cheaters will be disqualified....this is for fun, there should be no reason to cheat :eyebrow:) and then, once you've got all your twenty (or less) images together, have your representative PM them to me in one single post, designating next to each item: "From Internet" or "Original", by the deadline announced in the Clan Contest #4 Thread (TBA). Incomplete submissions accepted, but only one total submission accepted (there may be some "difficult" scavenger hunt items, after all :p).
Point system: Points will be awarded per image in the following fashion:
+1 Point for an image taken from the internet +2 Points for an original image (taken/created by you or someone in your clan) +1 Point awarded in addition to the image deemed "Most Creative" (:trophy:) of all the entries for each given item number. (Still trying to decide how this will be determined- clan vote? Clan Council vote? My choice?) -1 Point if your image is the same (identical!) as another submitted image. This subtraction will be waived if your image is an original image (and if we get two identical original images, well, something fishy is up...).
How it will end: Once the deadline for the contest has passed, I will post each clan's submissions to the Clan Contest #4 thread a few days or less after the deadline passes. Soon after posting the images (I'll want to give it at least another few days, so that each clan has the opportunity to view each other clan's unique entries, and allow for suspense to build) I will post the calculated scores of each clan, including the data on which image for each item entry was selected "Most Creative", and hand out our Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophies (metaphorically, of course ^_^)!!!! The winners will of course be determined by highest total points.
~Alright, so please let me know if any immediate concerns come to mind regarding this contest, suggestions are fine too, I will try to take everything into account but I want this to be fluid and seamless if at all possible. Clan Contest #3 took quite a while, I'd rather not have a repeat of that.
I'm thinking of giving the contest a 3 week deadline, as originally suggested by rianalnn.
I plan to create a Clan Contest #4 thread sometime in the next few days, sooner if there are less concerns (and preferably more "okay!"s and "looks good!"s) tonight and tomorrow.
I'll ask wamyc this question again, since it seems to have been buried under a wall of posts...
Does it cost money to send picture messages to a photobucket/similar online image hosting site using a cell phone?
If so, I probably won't be able to send any "real" pictures to help out.
Also, that reminds me that anyone who hasn't yet changed his or her sig link should do so.
As recently as 9th Edition, Circle of Protection: Red was in Standard. That card is way more of a pain than Burrenton Forge-Tender, so count your lucky stars.

Sweet!
Baneslayer Angel will be worth a lot for a long time, so you're all set.
Also of note: The new Angel-slayer is a Demon.
No, no I don't.

It's almost certainly viable. Carnophage into neo-Ichorid into neo-Knight of Meadowgrain seems legit.

He got two that night, not seven.
Still, that's two more than I've ever opened, so mad props, bro.
It's almost as if Niv cloned himself or something.

I know, but I mean owning 7 total is win. Opening two in the same night is win as well.
Lmao. jk.
Well, i don't. I play it frequently, unlike this guy I know who plays it almost everyday.
As a creature that can only attack, it's not very useful in Limited as soon as an opponent casts a Horned Turtle-sized creature.
I can get behind this statement.

At least it's rare! and i'm not one, i just speak like one.
Thanks.
Try not to let people get the two confused.

I doubt this card will see any play. I mean, seriously, lose life? Psshhhh, like I would want to kill myself. Haha, what a joke of a card.

Somehow, despite the groundbreaking news we've just received, there is more epic news to absorb!
