Well, my name change officially went through. After three years I had to change the username as it no longer applied.
I had wondered what has up. Makes sense though, considering you use a somewhat similar name on Youtube (IIRC).
Speaking of Youtube, I hate the new look on the front page. It's horrendous. It's bad enough they have to change something like every other day, but this is quite ridiculous.
As for my own username, it goes all the way back to when I played Savage on the PC. I miss Savage and I wish S2games didn't ☺☺☺☺ the game over so bad resulting in Savage 2 (which was just abysmal) and then deviating to HoN. (Yeah, I don't like HoN. It's not what Savage 1 was like.)
I agree with you, I hate the new youtube front page. It's quite horrendous. Youtube in my opinion has been getting somewhat worse recently.
It could be a lot worse though. I will give them credit for putting a option for right-clicking a video and automatically copying the video URL + the time you right-clicked at. Sooooooo much better than when you used to have to input the time URL in manually.
The way youtube handled subscriber updates is the worst. Instead of having it in a nice neat little package, the decide to stretch it out to the whole page so I have to scroll down just to see if someone uploaded something new.
Also about the Savage thing, I looked the games up on wikipedia, and WOW. The first and second game looked drastically different. The second game almost looked like a FPS.
Still though, it's something not many people would think to do.
Correct!
I have no issue with neo-youtube, but then again, I have few issues with youtube in general. I simply don't care enough to gripe about it. No matter how tedious I find scrolling down to see if someone updated or that exceedingly annoying "Recommended Videos" section that never, EVER, interests me. -_-" Nevermind, I hate neo-youtube.

Savage 1 and Savage 2 are drastically different, but not for the reason you stated.
Let's go back to Savage 1. This was a game that was designed from the beginning to be a combination of a FPS, RTS, and an RPG. Back in 2003, this was considered groundbreaking for its time. The game did get some pretty good hype before it got released, but not as much as it could have because S2 Games was still a fledgling company and not a big-name one at the time.
Then Savage 1 was actually released. Almost immediately, problems started to surface. Not only were there numerous glitches to abuse, but the balance between Humans and Beasts was total ass. (Beasts would win like 90% of the time) You could tell that there wasn't much real beta testing done with the game. Even worse was the fact that there was no actual tutorial to the game. Savage 1 is probably one of the hardest-to-learn games out there. If you were a new player and didn't understand how the game worked, you got completely destroyed. I'd say out of 10 given people who started Savage, 8 of them eventually quit because the game was just too hard to understand due to the lack of a tutorial. You basically learned by getting destroyed and chatting with the good players about what to do and whatnot.
S2 Games eventually released patches to solve balance issues and glitches, but it was too little too late. The game evolved, but most of the players had quit. Those who did stay and continued to play the game then evolved it into one of the funnest games I've played in a really long time. The community was very tight-knit during this stretch, but we kept finding new advanced tactics and ways to utilize things. After discoveries and innovation started to plateau, S2 Games decided to just make the game freeware and hand the source code over to the community. The game eventually got some MUCH needed graphics and other fan-based mods to the game. Some people still play the game to this day, nearly 8 years later.
The one problem with Savage 2 that made it a failure in my eyes was they way they adjusted the melee system. In Savage 1, there were two distinct melee systems: the beasts were the more mobile of the two races and used their speed and melee enhancements to rushdown, while the humans were able to block and counter melee attacks while using their superior ranged weapons to fight back at a favorable range. It was very exciting and exhilarating, and when you combined the aspect of having your commander + teammates work with you, it never made battles old.
Savage 2 homogenized the melee system by giving both humans and beasts the ability to block. The beasts' leaping ability, which is what made them so fast and mobile, was nerfed into total oblivion. In exchange, the melee system turned into an RPS system of Attack/Block/Interrupt. Blocks beat attacks, interrupts beat blocks, and attacks beat interrupts. This melee system didn't have the same kind of depth or degree mindgames that the Savage 1 melee. When it came down to it, it was basically just a boring game of Rock/Paper/Scissors.
Savage 2 also put in an actual class system. Another terrible mistake. In Savage 1, as long as you were a "normal" unit, you had the ability to always mix and match your weapons and items so you could be whatever you wanted. The class system in Savage 2 basically forced you into what weapons and items/abilities you had on the loadout screen. A lot of freedom was gone because of this.
tl;dr version: Savage 1 could have been one of the best games in the last 10 years if S2 Games actually knew what they had on their hands.

I'm usually never able to go to prereleases because I do too much. I don't get to play magic competitively much because I often don't have the time to fit it in, so that's one reason why I love casual EDH, you play when you can.

Im trying to put together an EDH deck but I want it to be wacky and ridiculous. Once I can get my hands on a Champs Promo Niv-Mizzet I would soooooo make that deck. He is my hero and I need him to come back as a planeswalker and fight Bolas. I could just go into a happy coma if that happened lol.

If that happens, Yawgmoth save us all. Niv-Mizzet's probably the third oldest 'walker, under Sorin and Nicol Bolas. If he was printed as a 'walker, he'd be as good in EDH as either of them. I doubt he'd fight Bolas, though, as that would be a stupid mistake, and Niv-Mizzet ain't stupid.

I think wizards has stated that Niv is not a 'walker, but it would be a nice twist if he does come back.
As far as Wikipedia is concerned, it's "unsure." I don't like to make assumptions, but if Niv ends up a 'walker in standard, I won't actually like it that much. Doesn't make sense at the moment. We don't need a cross-set cameo in a throwback-set.

Although there are a lot of good generals out there (Zur, Erayo, Uril, etc), I personally believe that Niv Mizzet is the strongest. He's the only 2-card auto win combo (one being the general) that's relevant in EDH.

I loved my Niv deck, but when the group made a bunch of powerful decks, he started to fall. He was too expensive mana wise to play without getting countered. I love him, but I had to take him apart.
Anyway, I like my new Karn deck. I am a johnny through and through, so neat little combos and interactions make me jump for joy!

Same. Girlfriend wants to go to a concert. At the end of the day, she's still far more important than magic.
Amen to that. How are things going comrades? Any wacky fun times to speak of?

Great thanks, absolutely loving mtg right now, having great fun in EDH, type 2, and super excited about MBS.
Depends on what you consider wacky comrade?;) But I am great. Trying to get in EDH with the help of our great tatician V.M. Santore.
