I suppose I can see where you're coming from, I think i'll try him for a while in my U/B list, I still doubt he'll be as good as grave titan for a finisher.
Massacre Wurm is better against aggro decks and Grave Titan is better against control decks. In control decks, the life loss from Massacre Wurm doesn't matter too much; that ability is more relevant in aggro decks like Vampires, but the 3BBB cost is a bit high to pay for a creature that is only good against other aggro decks.
Fangren Marauder is nuts in Limited. It's almost impossible to lose to a non-Infect, non-mill deck if that guy sticks around long enough. Speaking of which, watch out for Shriekhorn! That card will get you.
Amazingly, I seem to be fine.
I did spend all of the money I had on me on the lift ticket and new goggles to replace the ones I broke last time, though.
I did not go to FNM, I just don't feel excited about this new set.
I am building a legacy deck finally! It's going to be a Cephalid Breakfast Deck, because it's relatively cheap (for legacy standards at least -_-) Also because I am a Johnny and love quirky combo decks.
I did great at FNM, but I went to the release just to get the packs (GF had a big day planned). I didn't really pull anything other than a ton of common.uncommon removal.

Happy belated birthday RWF!
I was very tired after my football (or soccer) game, so I probably shouldn't have gone, but the allure of drafting the new set got me. I went 2-2. :/
I think I was the only black drafter at my table because I had 2 Spread the Sickness, 2 Grasp of Darkness, 2 Go for the Throat, and a whole host of excellent black cards, and many other solid blue cards. I also had 2 Mortarpod. Yeah, insane right. My other color was blue, and had solid cards, and Corrupted Conscience. And Mindslaver. Anyway, I made a whole hoard of mistakes because of my lack of focus in the last game, and the first game I lost was to Wurmcoil Engine and Consecrated Sphinx, and a huge mana flood, and a lack of mana both games. Both of the bombs were on the field both games too. Overall, I can't complain. It was very fun, but I was sad I didn't go at least 3-1.

Well, my friend does... but he's just bitter because he's bad at Magic. He's still fun though!
Aww...I'm sorry to hear that. One day he should play EDH with me, a few other people. I run the happiest Hippo of all!
That deck is just way too fun. And I've won more games with it than I've lost, oddly enough. I usually kill everybody with a Prosperity/Skyscribing for a big number with a Hive Mind on board and things like Heartbeat of Spring/Mana Reflection/Mirari's Wake on the field, so people don't bother me until I randomly win through Abundance. If anyone wants to see my list, I'll probably post it sooner or later.
It is one of my dreams in Magic for Bolas and Niv to meet. I really hope this happens. Also, the name Innestrad (assuming I'm pronouncing it correctly in my head) sounds pretty cool
Though the great and powerful Firemind encountering the most diabolical dragon-walker ever would be quite interesting, I'm certain we'd soon have a "Niv-Mizzet, Nicol Bolas-mind" on our hands soon enough, and that's not exactly something I'd like to see. I'm an avid supporter of Memnarch, and his new Phyrexian regime, and I wouldn't much like some elderly dragon a-hole taking over my lovely mechanical world. I may be Izzet, but I'm a Phyrexian at heart, ladies and gents!
So I've been thinking (dangerous), and I want to put together a theory:
Wizards has been big on the nostalgia sets in recent years (Scars block, Coldsnap, and Timespiral block), and the storyline they've been running involves Bolas reinvigorating himself in Alara, then moving on to prompt the release of the Eldrazi on Zendikar, and now manipulating Tezz' on Mirrodin to some end.
If I've missed something, inform me, but I've also noticed that on the planes that aren't very "gold" (Zendi' and Mirr') he sees fit to use agents to do his work and doesn't do much hanging around. His planeswalker agents also happen to share his colors.
All that said, Wizards Trademarked the name "Innestrad" recently. So my completely baseless speculation is this:
Innestrad has something to do with Ravnica, and Bolas is headed there some time in the near future. Another gold-type set, political mechinations, factions that can be pitted against each other... seems perfectly up his alley. Annnnnnd maybe he meets Niv. Hopefully doesn't corrupt him!
Anyhow, I hope I'm not disappointed.
I hope you're not, but I hope the Phyrexians get a hold on ol' Nic before that happens....otherwise, Yawgmoth's glory will likely be forgotten.
Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful time! May your life be blessed by Chzo, Yawgmoth, Dagon, and other terrifying deities of legend!
( to anyone who can tell me where Chzo is from WITHOUT looking it up! )
I am building a legacy deck finally! It's going to be a Cephalid Breakfast Deck, because it's relatively cheap (for legacy standards at least -_-) Also because I am a Johnny and love quirky combo decks.
I actually have a budget version of that deck, and I love it dearly. If you have any advise, want any advise, or just need some of the cards, I'd be glad to help!
In my life, I got in to Austin College up in Sherman, and I plan to go there. It's a four-and-a-half hour drive from my hometown, but more importantly, it's a mere four-and-a-half hour drive from the best LGS in Tejas!
I didn't attend the release yet, but that's because they haven't gotten product in yet. Hopefully I can make it when they do.
I'm really liking Besieged, and totally want to build a Living Weapon-centered deck. That mechanic is just soooooo COOOL!

Those cards are ridiculous. Especially in limited, I lost to the Sphinx this past weekend at the GPT. Well, that match had more to do with my inability to read than anything else but whatever.
I need to get a Japanese foil one of those bad for my EDH deck.
Am I the only one who sees no point in Japanese foil cards? I'd much rather have a normal foil
EDIT: That sounded harsh, which was unintended. I simply meant I don't see the value in them, but many people do and I respectfully disagree.
I see where you're coming from. I'm on the same side. Japanese cards are all well and good, but when I need to look a card up to explain what it does, there's an issue.

They're valuable because they have such a limited print run. As such, Japanese foils are by far the hardest of foils to acquire simply because there are so fewer of them than normal foils.
I don't go for them myself, because I'd rather have weird foils and cards to carve an identity for myself.
EDIT: I'm sorry I forgot, but happy belated birthday RWF_Less!
I see where you're coming from. I'm on the same side. Japanese cards are all well and good, but when I need to look a card up to explain what it does, there's an issue.
That's part of the appeal. I like it when people have no idea what my cards do.
Its also just cool to have something in the language of a culture I find interesting, ya know?
I'm with you V.M., although my LGS buddies chuckle at me when I complain about explaining what my Korean Mikokoro, Center of the Sea does. They were old school back when they played Type 1, everything foreign and foil.
That said, I traded my one-of English JtMS for Japanese happily. I owe an undefined "draft pick to be named later" for the difference. A buddy had three Eng. and one Jap. to sell, wanted the 4 Eng. for simplicity sake. He went straight into my EDH (in my sig').
I've been collecting languages in my Niv 100, been fun! Russian Steam Vents, Mikokoro, Italian Sol Ring, etc.
I like Japanese cards fine and well, but I like the larger (caligraphy?) characters on the Chinese cards better. I also like Russian cards, I have a Russian Demonfire and a Russian Shapesharer. I also have some Japanese cards too, yet I digress.
Ouch sorry to hear that RWF!
I like foreign cards just for the coolness factor, but I like French cards because when I play with my cousin who can't read or write English, only French, it is easier.
