No, no, no, I haven't seen Mean Girls, and yes, I promised Micah ages ago I'd get it from NetFlix, but it just hasn't happened yet.
Tell you what, Micah. This next movie coming is my choice (we take turns) and I will put Mean Girls at the top of the list. I'll just have to watch it while he's sleeping since we only have 1 TV, haha.
What? He'll love it. Just force him to watch it and just try not to quote it
Uh, no. He won't like it in the least, I can promise you that.
And, how am I supposed to quote it? I mean, I know there's that one quote, but I can't do that if I've never seen the movie before! I don't know where it's said or who said it.
Also, I want to watch Clue again. It's been forever since I've seen it and I miss it.
I want to watch Clue again dammit!!!

does anyone else find Adam Lambert absolutely ADORABLE! God i love his music
I'm not sold on him quite yet. He's got a good voice, but he does pop, which is generally a minus in my book. I think the thing that bugs me most about him, and admittedly this isn't his fault, is that when he first got off American Idol, everyone was comparing him to Freddie Murcury, and I was just like, "...Really? Is it really fair to be comparing this guy that hasn't even released an album or recorded a single original song to such a musical legend?" I mean sure, they're both gay, but to say Adam Lambert is "the next Freddie Murcury" is premature, to say the least, and down-right blasphemous to say the most.
"What'd'ya Want From Me" was good, but got WAY overplayed. "If I Had You" is better so far, but still too poppy for me to consider buying his album or getting it off iTunes.
You know, it's funny. I just started watching QAF and somehow I'm not surprised that you would find Brian Kinney's approach more appealing than others.
When I was younger, Brian Kinney was something of an idol of mine. Brave, brutally honest, absolutely unapologetic, fearless and viciously loyal. As I've gotten older, I've settled into an odd but nice melding of Brian and Ben (if you've just started watching, Ben shows up a bit later in season two). Far more laid back and a lot less confrontational and in-your-face.
But no, you're definitely not wrong, there's a significant amount of Kinney still in me.
Manders asked what that was from and you answered so I meant to say "this" with a quote from manders AND suggest she should put it higher on her netflix queue or shell out the 5 bucks for the DVD. (she still hasn't seen it)
well see my musical taste is all over the place i really do like a little bit of everything and i agree he is no Freddie Murcury but he i do like his music i still like whatya want from me but my favorite is Fever.

Ah, ok. I see what you meant now. Meh, it's possible, but we'll see. I don't generally go for chick flicks much.
Hey Bigmac, have you heard Lady Gaga's version of Fever?
I haven't, but I will say this. They changed the radio station that plays on the PA at work, and I'm subjected to listening to Lady Gaga several times a day. And, she's growing on me. I like the music (as I almost always like anything I can to) and she can actually sing, unlike that other new pop star who I don't know (nor do I care) her name, but she sings that song that goes "Your love is my drug". THAT ***** can't sing for ☺☺☺☺!
When did pop stars stop having to be able to sing?

This is the user the two guys in my sig were making fun of:
The more a population accepts and pairs gay couples, the less babies are born! It's a friggin' no-brainer!
It all makes sense now. As soon as we allow same-sex marriage and become tolerant of gay couples, EVERYONE will turn gay because they can! And when that happens, the minorities will overrun us! *Epiphany*

Too funny. Like there's absolutely 0 gay minorities? Pshah! hahahaha
I like Adam Lambert. He can be very poppy, but I like his glam rock wail. I bought the CD For Your Entertainment when it first came out and have enjoyed it ever since. I like almost every song on it, to varying degrees.
I had never heard Lady Gaga sing Fever before, so I YouTubed it. Not bad, but I still like Adam's version better for the aforementioned wail.
As for debate threads, I usually stay away from them. There are the people with opinions so base and obscene that they had to live under a rock to develop them. And then there are the people so emotionally charged that all they want to do is shout what they think without ever taking a moment to genuinely listen to others. And then there are the clever ones who mistake rhetorical skill and/or esoteric philosophical knowledge for genuine insight into a matter. And internet debate threads seem to attract all three like a dinner bell.
On the subject of Life According To Brian Kinney. I have many ways in which I disagree with that particular philosophy. That said, compared with the Life According To _______ of many others in Queer As Folk, I think it's entirely possible to see Kinney's as the most respectable of the bunch without necessarily having it as your own. A strong personality and unflinching honesty go a long way.
On a random note, my boyfriend bought me a present! He got me a green shirt with Yoda on it. Everyone who knows me knows that I'm a Star Wars geek, so of course I loved it. Then I read the big, bold words printed underneath the picture of Yoda. SIZE MATTERS NOT.
Given the various ways of interpreting this, I'm torn between seeing this as epic win or epic fail. lol

Of course it is epic win! I love doing little things like this for my significant other. Let's see, he has two Irish snow globes (to match his heritage), a Green Lantern shirt, some Spider-Man boxers, a Storm Trooper keychain, um...and various other things that I've seen, thought "*** will love that!" and bought it for him.
What I want to know is...why doesn't he ever do that for me? Is it a personality feature that causes me to do that, and he just doesn't have that feature? Or, do men just not think about doing ☺☺☺☺ like that?
I'm just curious, not complaining. He does plenty of other things to let me know he loves me.
@Manders - I buy him presents too, so it's probably just a personality difference.
@Chaotix - You hit the nail on the head. In addition to the jokes related to matters below the belt, I had to inform him of the irony of giving a chubby chaser a shirt that says that.
Manders, I don't think he was questioning the act of giving, so much as what the shirt said
I know that! I was just saying that he didn't get that shirt for him to offend, but he probably already knew that, too. Oh, well. Sorry, guys. I'm slow this morning.
Plus, debating with Micah through text on pop music has me pre-occupied.
@Manders - I buy him presents too, so it's probably just a personality difference.
That's what I was thinking, too. He's just not as thoughtful as I am. At least, with stuff like that. When he does buy me gifts (birthday, Christmas) they're great gifts.
How were you able to sit with the DaVinci code in a normal state O_o?
Hah It's actually one of my favorite movies. I love mythos surrounding religions and deities (even if TDC is full of fabrication but then again religion itself is as well), plus I'm a sucker for conspiracy movies.
Well, no, you're right, that's not Ke$ha it's a Photoshop of John Travolta's face on her body. But once seen, the comparison cannot be unseen.
Not to mention that Ke$ha looks (and looks like she smells) like a five-day tequila binge. She has a permanent vomit-sheen that I find repulsive on every level.

Such as? I'm personally not a holder of his juvenile obsession with being a ☺☺☺☺ to hold onto his youth and confidence. Nor do I share his views on heterosexuals (that they all hate us on some level) or relationships (that it's just settling into a fake heterosexual life).
That said, compared with the Life According To _______ of many others in Queer As Folk, I think it's entirely possible to see Kinney's as the most respectable of the bunch without necessarily having it as your own. A strong personality and unflinching honesty go a long way.
For the most part, I found everyone else either too wishy-washy or too self-righteous to be particularly enamored with their life philosophies.
I generally like to read them, just to see other's opinions, but I don't take part because I'm one of type 2 that you listed. I'm stubborn and right and don't want to listen to anyone saying anything that differs from my belief, which I know is wrong, which is why I don't take part in debates.
See, I'm the opposite. I feel that I need to hear as wide a variety of opinions on a concept to fully understand my own. I feel that in order to be confident in what I believe, I ought to explore all the alternatives to flesh out what I don't believe. Understanding the negative space of what we don't believe is just as important as understanding the positive space of the beliefs we do hold.
Awww, that is fantastic! See, there need to be more girls!
Granted, there are bad nerds, too. Prime example is "Sheldon" from "The Big Bang Theory".
Know-it-all, condescending bastard.
Hey now, anyone who can get away with wearing a blue lantern shirt on mainstream TV is okay with me! Haha, but not actually... he's a terrible person. But I'd classify him as much of a geek as he is a nerd. And geeks are never cool.
Next on my shopping list is this wonderful knife holder for my kitchen and a facehugger plushie if they ever restock them.
That coat is certified badass! You're guaranteed to turn some heads wearing that thing! Also, the facehugger plushie is awesome! I need to invest in a couple plushies... namely Appa and Totoro.
So sad, but unfortunately, he's only exaggerating a little. I hate being from such a conservative state. It sucks, because I don't agree with a majority of the ☺☺☺☺ they do.

Also, here's some Joseph Gordon Levitt to make up for the Mean Girls...
I approve of this! Has anyone seen Brick yet? It's actually such a sweet movie and he's awesome in it. It's super stylish and has some of the best dialogue in a movie I've ever watched. We're talking Snatch-level dialogue, IMO.
Or, do men just not think about doing ☺☺☺☺ like that?
Most guys just don't think like that. It's really not because we care any less... it's just a combination of things: less impulsive shoppers, tendency to plan surprises rather than have spontaneous ones, general lack of romanticism, etc. Thankfully I've learned that it's good to have a balance... showering her in presents is silly (and a waste of money) but a well timed surprise pays rich dividends!
Also, welcome ItachiM! That was an unreal story about coming out to your friend... I can't imagine turning on a close buddy like that. * PurpleD shudders

Matt: Jedi are invincible, they can take out anyone.

Mikey, I love you! Yeah, /barn every single bit of this.
Sorry, Micah!
Nor do I share his views on heterosexuals (that they all hate us on some level)
He actually believes this? That's ludicrous!
Well, I may have spoken too strongly. I'll listen to/read what others have to say, but likely will not change my opinion. Maybe a simple aspect of it I may change my mind (prime recent example was in a Twilight thread in Entertainment where I seceded that I can understand why some people think Edward is emotionally/verbally abusive. I don't agree, but I see their point).
Long story short, I'm open to discussion, but I'm stubborn.
Yikes, lots to catch up on again! Thank goodness for lazy days... I'm still sitting around in my boxers!
What kind? lol Are they plain, or do they have a character on them or any kind of design?
Hey now, anyone who can get away with wearing a blue lantern shirt on mainstream TV is okay with me! Haha, but not actually... he's a terrible person. But I'd classify him as much of a geek as he is a nerd. And geeks are never cool.
haha, yeah, I do enjoy his fascination with superhero stuff, but he's just such an insufferable jackass! I don't understand how he has any friends, I just don't.
The rest of the guys on the show are hilarious and I do enjoy it, but Sheldon grates my nerves.
Soon! She's back next week!
Aww, I thought we'd get to hear it now! Dammit!
*sigh*
I'll be patient...for now
This is Riolu. He's super cute AND evolves into my fave Pokemon, Lucario!
Eh, he's pretty cute, but no. Clefairy is waaaay cuter.
And, yes, I AM such a girl.
So then I don't see why you, Jake, Manders and myself can't all work something out
Oh, we COULD work something out...if you were in the right freaking country!
Just kidding, Trenton. You're kinda up there with Jake. But, like, I talk to him outside of this forum. Can't say that about you.
Tell me about it. I'm from Alberta, which is like the Texas of Canada. So by Canadian standards, we're definitely right leaning but by American standards, we'd be much closer to center-right. Still, we're the province with the nasty oilsands and the home base of the conservative government
It sucks so much to be born/reside in a place that the majority of people think completely differently than you do. Like, what's the point of me voting? I can vote all I want, but my state will still be red/blue (sorry, I don't know which color stands for which. I'm an admitted political idiot) when all's said and done.
I approve of this! Has anyone seen Brick yet? It's actually such a sweet movie and he's awesome in it. It's super stylish and has some of the best dialogue in a movie I've ever watched. We're talking Snatch-level dialogue, IMO.
OMFG, I LOVE Snatch! Such a great movie, and Brad Pitt was freaking gorgeous, if unintelligible in his speaking.

Ok, this makes sense. But, seriously, everything I've ever bought him on a whim was less than $10. How's that going to break the bank? Ugh.
But, I get what you're saying. Meh, like I said, he does plenty to show that he loves me, even if it's not the same things I do.
@Itachi - Don't feel bad, hon. It happens to the best of us.
Where the hell are Gear and Kraj? Missing you, guys!
His motto when it comes to straight people: "There are two kinds of straight people in the world, those that hate you to your face and those who hate you behind your back." (which was the reference I made earlier that got us on the topic of Brian's wild beliefs in the first place)
Whether or not he truly believes this is a bit up in the air. His family experiences in a deeply homophobic family probably set the stage, but so much of Brian's outward personality is put-upon brashness that I always doubted if he really believed that. Particularly given his awesome mother-son dynamic with Debbie. It could just be a case of assuming the worst of people and cherishing the very rare exceptions, which I can relate to.
What? He'll love it. Just force him to watch it and just try not to quote it
And, how am I supposed to quote it? I mean, I know there's that one quote, but I can't do that if I've never seen the movie before! I don't know where it's said or who said it.

"When were you under the impression, that you were under the impression?"
I am looking for Xx Copies of Angelic Destiny, in all Languages, Foil and Non-Foil as well.
Mikey, I love you! Yeah, /barn every single bit of this.
Sorry, Micah!
He actually believes this? That's ludicrous!
What kind? lol Are they plain, or do they have a character on them or any kind of design?
haha, yeah, I do enjoy his fascination with superhero stuff, but he's just such an insufferable jackass! I don't understand how he has any friends, I just don't.
The rest of the guys on the show are hilarious and I do enjoy it, but Sheldon grates my nerves.
Aww, I thought we'd get to hear it now! Dammit!
*sigh*
I'll be patient...for now
Eh, he's pretty cute, but no. Clefairy is waaaay cuter.
And, yes, I AM such a girl.
Oh, we COULD work something out...if you were in the right freaking country!
Just kidding, Trenton. You're kinda up there with Jake. But, like, I talk to him outside of this forum. Can't say that about you.
It sucks so much to be born/reside in a place that the majority of people think completely differently than you do. Like, what's the point of me voting? I can vote all I want, but my state will still be red/blue (sorry, I don't know which color stands for which. I'm an admitted political idiot) when all's said and done.
