Feuer sent that link to me, but that seems to be specialized for Dell computers and dell cards, whereas mine is an HP computer.
The important bit here is the wireless hardware. It ought to work the same in that aspect (after all, a "Dell" is just a brand-name for assembled hardware they bought from vendors).
Butteblues: If you bothered to check you would see that there is a BCM spesific guide there And we tried that

Yeah, but it's annoying as hell on sites that have background images and then images that aren't part of the background but blend in with it.
@BB: I had windowblinds a while ago but I disabled it before this problem started happening and don't have any other theming programs.
I found the solution to this problem and thought I'd tell you guys.
Somehow the "High Contrast" setting on display tab of accessibility settings in the control panel got checked. Kinda stupid and I have no clue how it got checked.

Ok, so a while back my computer got hit with spyware. Not knowing what to do other then download programs to kill it (nothing worked BTW) I waited for a buddy to look at it. He tried a recovery disk only to find that both D drives (the ones that read CDs) are screwed and don't work.
Ends up I need to have it taken in. It's been in the shop before, and if this continues it'll end up costing alot of time and money. So any ideas as to how to fix this myself other then buying new D drives (if that's even possible with the Spyware on it yet)?
Just upgraded today to Kubuntu Feisty Fawn, everything looks fine, except that when Beryl loads the title bars for all windows dissapear, and I can't find how to make them appear again :/, I have it in a laptop with a Intel integrated video card if that helps
EDIT: Also I still want to try the Firefox 3 alpha (Gran paradiso), I downloaded the alpha 2 and uncompressed into my home folder, everything seems fine, but when I run it as /home/dark/firefox/firefox it keeps launching FF2 :/

It could be a number of things.
With Beryl merging with Compiz, and with Feisty shipping Compiz by default (but not enabled automatically), I'd suggest moving to Compiz though. You can enable it via Desktop Effects in Preferences.

FF2 must be closed entirely and the firefox-bin process must not be running, else it'll just open a new window with FF2.
If you want to test out FF3, I'd recommend simply adding the following repository and installing `firefox-trunk` and `firefox-trunk-dev` (which will install alongside your existing FF2 installation):
If I'm still unable to update from Ubuntu Edgy Eft to Feisty Fawn with the Update Manager (and receiving and error message like this), should I attribute it to the Ubuntu servers getting raped by people upgrading?
I was recently thinking about 'taking the plunge' into the Linux world and hopping on the Feisty bandwagon. I guess i'm an intermediate PC user (but with a crappy Dell lol) and have been wanting to check out Linux. Anyway, how is the driver support for Ubuntu now? I can't stand reformatting as it is because my damn Ethernet controller drivers go misssing and it's a hassle having a pc without the internet for a while . Does Intel make compatible drivers for Linux systems? I know ATi does for video stuff. Do most windows drivers work for Linux or are there specialized Linux ones only?
Only problem I would foresee would be not being able to use any MTP portable devices.

I thought I checked this thread and found nothing, looking twice appears to pay off
Are you talking about USB antivirus programs?

Nope - USB CD/DVD-RW drives. USB ones are fairly cheap as far as things go.

Yeah, just change sources.list so they only say "feisty" and you should be set.
