I just don't get why Katy Perry is dating John Mayer. That guy has been in more women than a Kotex. I hope she makes him wrap it up cuz he just seems like a cheater(a dirty one at that!) to me. Everyone has the right to be stupid when it comes to love...but only once.
I don't get why people like Saturday night live. Sketch comedy is not funny.
I find it hilarious. I find "British" humor not funny at all. I use quotes because that's what people call stuff like "The Office".
Different strokes for different folks.

The phrase "I'm sorry for your loss". I see this on cop shows and it's going mainstream anytime someone dies. My wife's aunt told me that about my grandfather who passed in march. He was 88, lived a full life and had a well scripted funeral. I wanted to punch her.
Have we not developed anything better to say to someone we don't know who was close to someone who died?

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
@cardfather : It is simply honest sentiment, but it is more about you than your grandfather.
Generally, wife's aunt and your grandfather is enough familial possessives to guess the aunt wasn't particularly close to the deceased. If that's the case, she is simply communicating her empathy for you. It would be disingenuous to speak intimately of someone she didn't know.
In these cases, you can't force someone to let you help shoulder the burden of grief, even if you're family. There's not more you can do but be there, a physical reminder that to the bereaved that they matter and their grief matters.
I don't get celebrity gossip magazines like People and Star and all that crap. I don't understand why someone would want to read about people they don't know and never will.

I think it's because people think their lives suck and if they can live vicariously through the stars they won't have to think about their own problems. My wife used to watch a bunch of Teen Mom, Kardashians, that show with the playboy bunnies and the spin offs. I would just go.. why?

For some people its a mechanic for socialization. It gives people something in common to discuss. Whether this type of "entertainment" holds any societal value other than for its own sake, I'll hold back from the soapbox.
It means your friends are douche bag grammar nazis who think they are being cleaver. They aren't.
I'm not a fan of grammar nazis either, but are they really any worse than those who "butcher" the English language?
I've personally never understood people who commit really obvious grammatical errors in places like Facebook posts (e.g. Your/you're). I mean, even if you suck at grammar, you have google right at your fingertips to look it up. Isn't it worth one or two minutes of your time to avoid looking like a complete idiot to all the hundreds or thousands of people you have as friends?

Oh no, you caught me spelling something wrong (in this case because it's still a word so spell check missed it). Shucks. And to answer your question, yes. They are much worse. People sometimes make small mistakes that really don't matter at all. It's the ones who point them out that are the dick heads. No one likes condescending, douchey behavior.

To be fair, his pun was hilarious.
Also, I'd rather spend time with what you call condescending douches and actually have my grammar improved by them, instead of posting something that makes me look uneducated.
Just because it's the "dick heads" who point it out doesn't mean that no one else cares. We do. People who consistently butcher grammar on the internet do look like idiots.

To each his own I guess. I personally feel there are more important things to worry about. Grammatical errors are pretty insignificant IMO, not worth my time or energy to make a fuss over.
I don't get how I am a pretty well read person, I am currently writing a novel and other than the fact that my punctuation isn't perfect; I consider myself a literary person.
And the other night, I couldn't for the life of me remember how to write a lower case "g". My friend was sitting there dumbfounded that it wasn't clear to me, but my brain had literally shut down on how to properly write in non-capital letters.
It scared the **** out of me. I eventually got it right again, but I to this day do not get what happened at all.
I don't get why people enjoy arguing. It's always so tedious. They even go so far as to get upset with me for not arguing (though in my experience this is most commonly women. Sorry ladies.)
I also don't understand the appeal of drama of any sort. It bothers me quite a bit, because my extended family seems to thrive on it. There's always something going on, someone's mad and gossiping about something. Even my mother, who only serves to harm herself through her temper and blood pressure problems, is unable to stay away from it. I simply don't get it.
I don't get why women expect men to be the ones to show interest in them. If you want a guy to notice you, YOU talk to them. I'm tired of this gender role bull****.
I don't get zombies: no character development makes for very poor and un-engaging villains.
Depending on the story, Zombies often aren't the REAL villains, but rather just a constant threat that adds tension to a post apocalyptic world.
Taking a popular example: In the TV Show, The Walking Dead, zombies are definitely a constant threat, but you wouldn't really describe them as the villains. The villains and conflicts are mostly associated with the remaining humans fighting among themselves, as they try to cope with not losing their humanity despite what the world's become.
Uhh...people who still, despite living in the 21st century, think men have to be 'dominant' in general or in a relationship with a woman?
Depending on how you're defining "dominant," women are attracted to men with leadership qualities just like men are attracted to women who are healthy and good looking. Dominance (if we're talking about being this in the assertive sense) is a trait associated with confidence and leadership, I don't think when you look at it in that light it's a bad thing (although once again, this depends on how you define dominance). If dominance means being loud, arrogant and pushy, well I don't think many people actually think guys should be this way.
As for me, something I don't really understand is why people post something in forums asking for other people to do work for them, when they can simply figure the answer out for themselves with a two second google search. I guess I "get" it, but I'm annoyed when people act helpless when they're simply being lazy and want others to do their work for them.
I don't get why people that I meet from high school are so surprised when they see me out wearing a dress. It's not like I was a guy in highschool and now I'm a girl. I've always been a girl.
I don't get how I am a pretty well read person, I am currently writing a novel and other than the fact that my punctuation isn't perfect; I consider myself a literary person.

Were you around children? The other day I was in a car with a friend's kids and tried to write a capital N. Couldn't do it. She thinks children suck the ability to think right out of you.
People that talk about banning abortion but then are outraged when someone tries to regulate another "freedom" of theirs (Guns, marriage, birth control, etc).
I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said "Pro-Life, Pro-Freedom"...I mean, how contradictory can you be?

Really? Because grammar rules dictate that when asking permission you use "may" instead of "can."

Big +1 to that! Especially in relationships. A guy who is beaten down mentally and lets his woman walk all over him is truly a sad, sad sight.
