If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
People are so negative about everything surrounding modern masters! The play mat is FREE and is an incentive for the people who want it to arrive at the GP to sign up early. If you don't like it, don't show up early so those of us who do like it can get one.

Trust nothing you hear and only half of what you see... especially on MTGS.
I asked Chris Rahn about them a few weeks ago at Spectrum Fantastic Art Live 2. He was commissioned to do them specifically to match them stylistically with the Scars block swords. The swords are iconic, and there are collectors who like "sets" to have the same visual aesthetic. Thus, rather than giving the the original swords utterly different new art, the most logical approach was to create a matched set.
As an aside, the original oils of both of Rahn's MM swords are up for grabs on ebay right now; last I looked each was up to $1500...evidently there are a few folks out there who like the new art.
Momir Vig, Simic Visionary
Melek, Izzet Paragon
Oona, Queen of the Fae
Bruna, Light of Alabaster
Gisela, Blade of Goldnight
Rhys the Redeemed
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord

UltraPro created a second mat for this event, as a special thank you to our judges (and a very very small number as prizes in public events, like the top 4 of the Sunday charity tournament).

Last month, I started my hunt for the Scars of Mirrodin Block Mythic Sword Trio. I've successfully acquired all three, which now leaves the (elusive) Modern Masters Mythic Sword Duo.
I'm only a casual gamer. I do not own anything of note or prominence. Or anything for that matter. But every time I open my measly binder, and see the 3 swords. I light up. I feel like a little kid in a toy store for the first time. I feel a sense of wonder, delight, and inspiration.
It may not be today, tomorrow, or the immediate future. But someday. I'll complete Chris Rahn's Mythic Sword Cycle B)

Good thing they made that, because clearly there weren't enough reasons for people to go to GP Las Vegas!
