Not calling you out specifically but rather a trend I've seen this spoiler season - I really wish when people made a SCD thread, they would make an actual argument as to why one should play a card. "Here's a card" shouldn't be good enough. Why do you like this card? What kind of decks do you envision want this sort of card in your Cube or potentially others? What might you cut for it and why? What are pros vs cons to this card and its abilities. What are the worst and best case scenarios? People need to put a bit more thoughts into their threads.
Card seems cool. Wrecklessly using deep anal etc on your turn, then having counter magic and creatures to flash in on your opponents. Probably not good enough but seems solid.

Lol sorry I was busy watching football game and was interested in reading other people's opinions when it was over ; p.
I'm not going to play this, but I think it's pretty good. It basically makes every creature you play after turn 4/5 free. If it had a better body I'd be considering it more seriously.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
I think it is hard to evaluate. No it doesn't protect itself, but just against instants. By their turn you have mana open for counter spells, attackers are back to block, and you can snap in a vorapede. I would play it if it were out of bolt range.

Yeah its a good card OUTSIDE of cube.
And i expect some really great things to happen with it. But that's not what we're about here :D.
Doesn't come close to doing it for me.
Sure the ability is insane, but it's 5 mana for something that dies to like every removal spell in the game (also needs to untap for it to be relevant)..
It also needs other cards to be good.
It needs the following from a deck to be good:
1) Simic colors
2) Decent amount of card draw, so you can frequently cast it -> cast something on their turn. Or hold up counter magic to protect it -> Drop a threat at End of their turn.
3) Large amount of protection to vulnerable creatures. Need a couple of cards like Lightning greaves, Vines of vastwood, Kira-great glass spinner, Swiftfoot boots, mother of runes, Sylvan safekeeper
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less." -Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking Glass
If you play him and they don't have instant removal (maybe they are tapped out), you untap (does the full untap work under a Winter Orb? I would guess so.) which means you played him for free and you can still have counter up or play your regular creature for the turn.
This is right, and why this is a whole ton better than Seedborn Muse et al. You get to take advantage of the ability much more easily if you immediately get access to your mana again and can drop a creature, which is far more likely than being able to profit from just using that extra mana for instants. It works a bit like a Peregrine Drake in that case. I think it meshes very well with G/U's gameplan.
My issue is that it's a bit too vulnerable for my liking, but it's certainly two really strong effects in one of the weaker guilds, and these aren't effects we have around since we all used to play Seedborn Muse back in the day. 10/10 for coolness and fun factor, as for power I haven't a clue as yet. It's good, but perhaps not quite good enough to justify spending a card (in cube construction or gameplay terms) on it.
How many lightning bolts do you guys run in your cube?
Point is, being able to play this essentially for free once you say "Go" and immediately have mana open to counter or play more creatures seems pretty amazing to me. If she can last till the end of your turn (your opponent could be tapped out more often than not after playing their 4 or 5 drop), then it pays for itself and provides you insane mana advantage and flash for creatures.
I think she's absolutely at least worth testing. Problem is I don't know what I should cut! Edric, Spymaster of Trest, Snakeform, Trygon Predator, Mystic Snake? I'm guessing most people would advise Snakeform but I like the removal he brings to two colors that don't have much of it...but he's most likely the weakest link.
Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
I can at least confirm that this gal is the business in Multiplayer and EDH cubes.
Sit it next to Deadeye Navigator and start making people cry in their own turns with ETB-effect creatures.
The flash ability on Prophet of Kruphix it wasn't worth the loss of the 4th toughness, the inability to untap artifacts for free and the switch to two colors in comparison to Seedborn Muse. But I suppose if you need a second Seedborn Muse in your cube...
How many lightning bolts do you guys run in your cube?
5
Lightning Bolt
Incinerate
Searing Blaze
Searing Spear
Chain Lightning
Wtwlf's list runs 7.
4 and 4 if you count instants only.
That's 1 lightning bolt, not 5. And some are sorcery spells.
This card is testing amazingly, the flash is absolutely worth it and makes it much better than Seedborn Muse. Though, iit'd be nice if it also untapped artifacts.
I think the flash is a nice tradeoff for not being able to untap artifacts. The point of toughness it loses is the biggest knock against it in my opinion.
I would probably test it in a larger cube (630/720+). I know a lot of our playgroup actually wanted to try him at 360 but I convinced them cutting Trygon Predator, Kiora, or Edric (at the time) for it was just crazy talk. So, I can see how a lot of players would like Prophet.

I fail to see how cards like Incinerate and Searing Spear are so different from Lightning Bolt when it comes to killing Prophet of Kruphix, but I may be wrong. Anyway, good to know the Prophet is "testing amazingly" for your playgroup. Would you mind to provide your current cube list to give some context to your testing environment?
Looks like something decent to test with for Simic

Yeah if it was 3/4, would be bigger contender for tighter cubes
I see being a fun EDH card and maybe in bigger cubes, 720's + or so.

Edric, Prime Speaker, Progenitor Mimic, Simic Signet, this card - they are all pretty shaky in my opinion. I dunno.
In before Nof. This is definitely a she. A she with six arms...
