My fellow educator, Catparty, makes a great point. In a vacuum it might be better, but in an STD with shocks, it is not only less elegant, it's deadly!
Personally, I'd love to see a reprint of Opt, updated as "Scry 1, then draw a card" but the reality is that it isn't going to happen. Opt is arguably better than Preordain.
But hey, if I'm wrong, everybody can throw tomatoes at me.
No, that isn't arguable. Opt saw a small amount of standard play when legal, Preordain has been played in every format it is legal in and dominated standard/modern. Opt isn't even as good as Visions.

No tomatoes though :).
I like Preordain more myself, but cutting Scry 2 down to Scry 1, and making it an instant seems about even. Blue players love to play spells when it isn't their turn.
if opt gets a reprint then in modern it will be played withSerum Visions & Sleight of Hand not in they place.
just saying Blistercoilmantle.deck would be happy about it.
being a instant would make some control decks to play less Serum Visions & more opt. ( Being able to replace a cantrip for some utility use it and replace it for a Electrolyze isn't a bad thing)
Now with Young Piromancer in modern i think it would play quite well with it + delver + tarmo and alot of cantrips...
So, Horizon Canopy-esque painlands. Like 10th Ed duals but with a special ability. (Going by TK's update to the OP).
Both better and worse than checklands. That damage is going to add up over a long game, so these kinds of duals very much favor aggro. And RDW will love sitting down to an opponent playing all shocklands and painlands. Makes Burning Earth even BETTER!
I think the lands will be similar to Horizon Canopy's "Draw a Card" ability, not the painland ability.
It's possible they'll print more pain lands of some sort (and honestly I'd say there's a 100% chance in the long term), but it's something they're clearly avoiding when they can so I think it's less likely.
Is it possible that would get something along the lines of Horizon Canopy or Nimbus Maze, without the life loss, that checks mana symbols of permanents like Devotion?
Kind of like a check land but instead of looking for a basic it looks for colored permanents. If no permanent exists of the color it can't be tapped for that color. If no colored permanents exist it taps for a colorless.
Pain lands that don't tap for colorless, plus shocks, plus Burning Earth would be the death of 3 colors. It just is too much damage for control decks to hang on against R/G and R/W aggro which is really strong and fast in RtR.
I'm still hoping for simple legendary duals. Yes, it's a pipe dream, and no, I don't care. Perfect time to try them. No "plains island" fetchable sub type, just a legendary nonbasic that taps for W or U. A man can dream. ...

I doubt it. Those lands would probably just be worse than basics and wotc wouldn't print duals that weak.
Medomai being WU would make Devotion much harder. Hard enough to justify a Time Walk effect? Or too difficult to actually pull off?
Monstrosity doesn't seem to fit. Medomai is a sentient, time traveling/soothsaying Sphinx. Make him a "monster" wouldn't do him justice.
Bestow just seems too awkward for a Time Walk like effect. Unless Medomai can pull others into the past/future, then it'd be flavorful. But I doubt it.

I was guessing on the snake being the god. Just made sense since they seem to be a 5/5 cycle. But to clarify the enchantment swords. it should read close to W enchantment. sac~ remove target non-enchantment creature from the game, its controller gains life = to power. May also just be creature and non-enchantment creature.
And to my knowledge it will be Nimbus mazes cycle of lands in this block.

Still going with Thoughtseize getting reprinted in Theros?
What kind of bizarre thread is it where we are believing a brand spanking new account who says things that are in direct contrast with what TK-421 has been told by their sources.
I kind of trust TK-421 more than I trust a "Trollcreature"

TK confirmed the Swords to Plowshares enchantment and some of the other cards to be true the only thing that is more or less off is the land cycle. But this can be miss remembering of TK' or Trollcreature' fonts or even we can get 2 cycles of lands...
Also that Enchantment StP is lol Powerfull (if it is like the one above)

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?

It's like you can't even read the first post since you completely ignore the facts stated therein.
First of all, Trollcreature already established he had good info with Medomai.
Second, the information TK-421 was told SUPPORTED and added further credence to Trollcreature. TK-421's source confirmed a "conditional Time Walk" on Medomai. TK-421's source confirmed the "1 mana white enchantment swords to plowshares". TK-421's source even hinted the Thoughtseize was correct. Trollcreature never stated as fact that the green god was the 5/5 snake; he was pretty clearly guessing on that one and later verified that he was guessing on that one. TK-421's source did differ on the land cycle (based on Horizon Canopy rather than Nimbus Maze, and the confusion is easy to understand because both were from Future Sight), but altogether this just further shows that Trollcreature has inside info that was largely correct.
Horizon Canopy-variant seems really weird to me, since they phased out the Painlands precisely because new players hated paying life for mana. If they go for something like that, I'd expect them to at least be able to produce colorless.

Except their versions of the StP are entirely different. One says that it is like Seal of Fire (and is now non-enchantment creatures) and the other says it is like Journey to Nowhere. Also can't remember a time we had a spoiler leaked for a second set in the pre-spoiler season for the block, feels odd.
EDIT: And if the incredibly solid "maybe" response hints at anything, it could equally be any black card that was obviously left out of modern masters. Like Damnation. The info just isn't there, and talking further on it is moot at this point.
This enchanment seems way overpowered to be real, as it would deal with Legacy Emrakul better than any card in Magic and propably replace Path in Modern. I will go as far as saying that would even replace the original StP, so until I see it I'm finding hard to believe.
If the no drawback E StP got printed i don't think it would imediatly take slots from StP and JtE but play well together like there is some Snapcarster and Delver sinergy with StP and JtE.
Maybe a :
E StP W
Enchantment
Sacrifice E StP: Exile target nonenchantment creature. Its controller gain X life. Put X fate counters on it and it gains " At the begging of each upkeep, Remove a fate counter from this creature" and " When there is no fate counters on this creature return it to the batlefield under its owner control. Where X is the Exiled creature's power.
( Note its a Custon Card just to show that this kind of enchantment can be powerfull but kind of balanced)
