Has anyone tried livewire lash as a direct form of infect damage? I think direct infect damage is more solid than quickfect in a lot of matches which is why I like cards like phyrexian hydra put together with soul's fire and the like. Any thoughts?

Soul's Fire is still okay, but the hydra and livewire lash is too slow.
Soul's Fire could be a combat trick to deal the last few infect counters to win.

Isn't it sorcery speed? That might to better in a quickfect deck, but the more midrangey decks probably would prefer to have instant speed response to removal.

i don't champion pandemonium in the deck however using it does give a different stragegy.
spend 4 mana to drop pandamonium, then following turn play a for 1 mana glistener elf and with pandamonium trigger on the stack, use the remaing 3 mana to pump the hell out of the elf so as to have the trigger hit your opponent for an infect of 10.
starts getting impractical if your dropping 2cc 1/1 infect for pandamonium triggers, as less mana to spend on pump spells.
------------------------
wild defiance still seems better than livewire lash as 2 mana for equip chokes up small mana base that you want to win with in the first place.
its too wild of possibility that the retaliation caused by livewire lash hitting and opponent who targets your creature will be enough to win the game.

Great, now perhaps people will come here looking for a winning deck, not just a cheap deck. I totally get being on a budget, and I am on one as well, but it gets a little disheartening when 80% of the people that come to play or improve the deck are looking to do it with big restrictions rather than do it as well as it can be done. I don't want budget players to feel like they can't read and post and get their needs met, but I also want more people that simply have the drive to make the archetype better, regardless of cost.
I tend to play on a budget too. This is relatively a cheap deck. It took me a while to get the fetchland and noble hierarch, but they can be used in another deck easily. I use the fetches in several decks at the same time.
GP Antwerp didn't have a lot of infect, but I'm glad at least one infect-deck made it to the top. It also proves that you can beat control, midrange, aggro with infect and that is not really a glass-cannon.
yeah infects gives u a tight play but its rewarding at the same time.

Burn and UWr control are both bad matchups as they have tons of removal so can't really do much against them.
For Affinity and Auras its basically a race to see who hits faster, althou u can side in mass artifact destruction Creeping Corosion for affinity and mass enchantment destruction Back to Nature for boogles. Its the same for infect. You can also side in spellskite to steal their auras.
Jund and Rock shouldn't be a problem as infect is made to deal with it as we are quicker then them.
GR tron, mmm we can try to deny them of their stuff by using pithing needle naming karn, however its still a race.
Scapeshift, race before they combo out on u. pretty easy since most list seems to only run a playset of Sakura-Tribe Elder, no blockers = easy 10 infect count.
Merfolk, pretty hard matchup with all the counter backup they have, mmm try to disrupt their game plan by destroying their aether vials so ya can slow them slightly.

I've taken the BUG version to FNM a couple of times (20-30 players) but can't break a 3-2 record. Many players in my area ported their UWR decks from Standard, so they make up close to 20% of the local metagame in all their variations. There's always someone playing burn as well, given that the deck is cheap to build. I played it myself for a while but ran into the same issues that Infect has. Once someone knows you're playing the deck at the FNM level, it's easy to hate you out.
why is burn a tough match up? they should be losing a good chunk of there burn spells or a lot of there gas to trying to kill your creature. forcing them into top deck mode.
waisting pump spells to save your infect creature from there burn does suck, but if done correctly you should be able to keep up one for one.
try swiftfoot boots in your meta if you have that much burn.
-edit- didn't anyone discuss wild defiance against burn? or did i not see it mentioned at all?

20+% of my local meta is composed of UWR variants and you would never resolve a Phyrexian Crusader against them. You're also up against UR decks in most metas. I think the quickfect plan is probably better.
this deck's design for speed, means its ok to use gemstone mine and city of brass aggressively. infect is already fighting a losing battle if the game goes longer than turn 4.
the fetches are just there increase the chance of you getting better top decks, instead of drawing that extra land.

Flesh/Blood is better than Soul's Fire.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

Also, what about nonsense with electropotence and pandemonium ?? Pretty sure I spelled that wrong.
The card are abit too slow sadly and it prob only give 1 poison counter since most infect creatures that are good enough of use are 1/1.

However do note that try not to pay life too much for Spellskite for burn matchups since u are prob making yourself easier for them to burn out.
Or u can play the crusaders as red_bullet has pointed out or side in some hand disruption for burn but just becareful of the life totals.

honestly I think it'a because of the double black that's to much black in a mana cost in a three colour deck that is running fast.
