I'm comfortable calling this one as springleaf drum
I'm a bit surprised that you are certain enough to conclude that this is springleaf drum, rather than a functional reprint, near-functional reprint or something else entirely.
But who am I to argue with a stormtrooper-pony-thingy:)

Intriguing, no? And I'm usually so cautious about what I put in the spoiler.

Basically: unfair advantage to internet butts on prerelease day, since they'll have practiced drafting the set a butt-ton of times already. You can tell which butts those are. At my store they all got white boxes. Butt.
Strange that nobody mentioned to this fellow that it's a dislike for "unofficial" spoilers... The whole set is usually on the gatherer/spoiled by Wizards a week prior to it's release, giving people plenty of time to practice drafting the set. Unofficial spoilers usually do not leak to the point of absolute knowledge rather than speculation (as how good a card is in a vacuum can only speak so much to it's overall value in a set) with very few exceptions.
Anyways, I'm not sure what springleaf drum means for type 2. I want to see a multicolor aggressive deck, but I'm not certain that it's possible.

Springleaf Drum probably hints at nothing. It's just color fixing in limited. Probably wasting a slot. Unlike Lorwyn Limited, at least it worked with Merfolk.
Hopefully it will give us some creatures that have abilities when they become tapped. like Fallowsage. Otherwise... limited mana fixing. Hopefully doesn't it become uncommon.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
Fan of the reprint solely because of limited purposes and because it was a $2 common that see's play in exactly 1 deck (affinity.) $2 commons are reserved for powerful cards like brainstorm and daze honestly that have been out of print for a long, long time.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Isn't springleaf drum a pretty terrible card in any deck other than affinity, especially in standard?
prove me wrong
There are formats other than limited and standard, and it is fair to expect some amount of attention be paid to them in new sets. We get soooooo many intentionally worthless cards, why not instead have cards that are worthless in limited (thus serving the need for worthless limited cards) and worthwhile elsewhere?
Turn one springleaf drum, turn 2 goblin electromancer. You can then; hands of binding, hidden strings, syncopate for 1, or any other awesome 1 mana or 1U/1R spell. Kinda jank, but it could be fun.
I believe WoTC's new policy is to make sure that every color can enjoy the exciting gameplay mechanic of making undercosted dudes and then turning them sideways. Clearly the future of magic.

We shall see.
Actually drum isn't bad in decks that either produce a lot of token creatures or have a curve that lends itself well to the deck. I mean obviously a 3+ color deck will like it because it fixes mana but since it turns any creature into a mana dork even if that creature was just cast this turn its a lot better then it seems.
This also might be a reprint because of the price of the card, right now springleaf drums are going for 58 cents to a dollar on the low end. Making it one of the most expensive commons in modern.

I was specifically referring to a dude who wanted complete spoilers months beforehand, New phyrexia style.
I mentioned that I did not understand Wizards hate for early spoilers and you assume I want the whole set months before release.
I like it when we get leaks for say 50 or 60 cards, maybe a look at some of the new mechanics and confirmation of which gods ect are in the set.
Rather than a springleaf drum and 3 scry lands (which if we don't get the other 2 in the same set is kinda BS for those color combinations).
We will get all 5 scry lands that are missing from Theros. MTGsalv mods are just waiting to put them in the spoiler once they know their names for sure. I can't even remember the last time we had a 3 card cycle of 2 colored lands.

No, Wizards has been pretty clear that the remaining 5 are being split up between the last 2 sets. If we had good reason to believe the remaining two were in, we'd put them in with placeholder names.

It's a good mana fixer/accelerator in limited, available for every colour.
