I have to be honest...I think putting cards like goyf and Bob on the reserve list wouldn't be a bad idea...
I know they won't ever add to it again, but I think it would help the game...
You think it's good if goyf reaches $300 dollars a copy? Do you? Because if goyf is never reprinted that's the price point it will eventually reach meaning a playset would be $1200. Because THAT'S the point of modern, to be out of reach of most people as most people can't afford to spend $1200 on a playset of goyf, which is more than what a lot of people get per paycheck. Either way, happy trolling.
Thoughtseize wasn't a sure thing. WotC has proven time and again that just because they can doesn't mean they will. People have been talking about a judge foil force of will since 2005. Almost 10 years later and look it STILL hasn't happened. Mana drain is in the same boat. Could have been reprinted into the ground and be worth a dollar today but look the card has never been reprinted.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Goyf should get reprinted, but honestly there are many very competitive decks that don't run Goyf, I think the same can be said about Bob.
The fetch lands are mandatory in virtually ever deck if you want an optimal mana base, so they should have priority. Staple tier 1 uncommons like Path To Exile, Inquisition of Kozelik and Remand should be reprinted very heavily, those cards should be in the $1-2 range.

Why? Do you want to kill Modern? Do you really want cards to become so expensive that it is even harder for new players to play Modern? Besides, Wizards can just choose to not reprint them, like they've been doing with Force of Will and Wasteland.
EvilDuck, I said this before but you ignored me, and until you answer I have no reason to believe you. I'll repost it below.
Also, while I appreciate the work that you have done, if it is possible, can you say what year this will be printed in, if the two sets will be drafted together, and if it will be only currently modern-legal cards (and if so, will there be a set limit for when the cards were printed like they had in Modern Masters)?

I didn't grill my source for every possible piece of information I could get so I don't have any answers to your questions. That's why I posted this in Speculation and not the Rumor Mill. The reason I didn't post it in BS is because I believe this source to be reliable. Honestly, I really don't care whether any of you believe me or not. I didn't post this to be hailed as a Rumor Mill hero, I posted it so that a few years from now, when (and if) what I've said has come to pass, I could post a link to this thread in my signature and be like "Haha, told you so". A lot of doubt here seems to be directed at me because people are speculating that the fetchlands will appear in a Standard-legal set soon. I say that's not happening because I've read multiple posts by MaRo stating that WotC doesn't like the "loading screen" fetchlands and other tutor effects create. If, and this is my own bit of speculation here, they print fetchlands in Standard again, it'll be in either Return to Zendikar or another set with landfall, as with that mechanic, there'd be something to make the loading screens worth it. In that case, the fetchlands reprinted would be the Onslaught fetchlands to make them Modern-legal, and the enemy lands would be man-lands a la Worldwake.

Ok, if you can get that information it would be helpful. I disagree about Standard, I don't think we are returning to Zendikar yet and Wizards has been wanting to reprint the Onslaught fetchlands. However, if you are right, thank you for telling us this.

Unless you're literally sitting on a throne made up of copies of Goyf and Bob, I can't see why you would think this. They wouldn't be banned in the process, so it means that they would still be in high demand, and people would have an even harder time getting their hands on them. How exactly does that help the game?

No offense, but that kind of seems like a terrible reason to share information with everyone. It also sounds like you want people to doubt you, so you can rub it in their faces later. Nonetheless, I'm happy you chose to share this information with us, and I happen to believe you.

If it seems like it, that's probably because it probably is. In retrospect, the title, while being true, is also ironic. I wish I could say that was intentional. I just thought I'd share my information in a way that would set myself up for some potential future lulz.

If by help the game, you mean ensure the same slow death of Modern already well underway with Vintage, I agree completely.
