Plumeater - 2(G/B)
G/B, Remove a -1/-1 counter from a creature you control: Plumeater get's +3/+3 until EOT.
1/1
With Devoted Druid, you get an infinitely big Plumeater.
Tap the Druid for a mana, untap and put a counter on it. Use the green mana from Druid to activate Plumeater and eat the counter, making Druid a 0/2 again, and repeat for a gigantic Plumeater.
Discuss and make a list. I don't care if it's jank.

Good find. This is the kind of stuff I like to try in limited.
I still remember my first SSS deck with 2 Pili Pala and 2 Power of Fire making it to top 4, then getting mana flood and mana screw and not drawing my Kitchen Finks.

WOTC said they wouldnt make 2 card combo's. So much for that. use a card to give it trample and win on turn 4? thats rediciulous.
It'd also be a posibility to win on turn 3.
Once you're done pumping your Plumeater to be a whatever/whatever, net yourself 2 more mana from the Devoted Druid. From there you can Manamorphose for either Rite of Consumption, or Emblem of the Warmind.
Not a good idea, but it is an idea.

Cinderhaze wretch is good with the eater too. Especially with Utopia Vow. The shusher stops conterspells. 8 trample givers. 6 tutors. More removal could always help too. Please comment, i know it is not that great, but it is pretty budget(always a good thing)
I think you'd want to structure this deck so that it could survive without the Druid/Plumeater combo. Add other great persisters (finks, finks, more finks) so the Plumeater is still relevant on his own.

I mean, think about it - resource denial works. It always has. And what is your opponents biggest, most important resource? His turn.
Turn 1 : drop land.
Turn 2 : drop land, play Devoted Druid
Turn 3 : drop land, tap two lands (not the black source) and druid to play Plumeater. untap druid, tap and use the mana plus -1/-1 counter to pump Plumeater. Lather, rinse, repeat until suitably large. Then tap your black source and the druid for Rite of Consumption (The black source land can actually be dropped at any time, but black has lots of good turn 1 drops)
i actually really like that combo, and there are many ways to make it really work out, this could become pretty good if we can figure it out and tuen it properly
Oh em gee, I love it! Heh, I'm jealous I didn't think of it myself.
I do totally agree with Kjunk in that we shouldn't make the combo the main focus of the deck. Hell, I probably wouldn't put toooo much effort into really gunning for that 3rd turn kill.
I'm seeing like this G/B/w aggro deck that would probably come together pretty well with the new G/B stuff coming out that would have like a few Primal Command and Summoner's Pacts for this sorta thing.
Maybe even something totally out of left field. Like a G/B control deck with only 1 Plumeater and Summer's Pact/Primal Commands to fish for it but still 4 Druid for early mana. It could be a random finisher or occasionaly still go off on turn 3.
Prior to the Eventide spoilers I was looking at a B/W Persist midrange deck, mostly focusing on Finks, Redcap, and Heartmender to remove the counters. No real combo there, but just having the recursion creatures that never go away, and popping ***/damnation at any time. This Plumeater is an even better counter remover than Heartmender.
I agree that the deck shouldnt be a 'combo' deck, but simply have that combo at your disposal. Im thinking that a B/G deck may be the best bet, with Finks, Redcap, Devoted Druid, Plumeater, and hope a good persist creature comes out for BG in Eventide (good mana curve there).
this deck could actualy be made faster if you go G/R.
turn 1 mountain - rite of flame - Manamorphse - devoted druid
turn 2 forest - devoted + lands - plumeater (plum eater can now become inf big) - kill devoted druid - Manamorphse - rite of consumption
requires 8 cards - 2 of the cards give draws.
also note - this thread probably shouldnt be here yet as the card is still under spoiler status not official (not even official spoiler either)
The green hideaway land maybe helpful.
turn 1:play hideaway land, remove rite of consumption or soulblast.
turn 2:play land,devoted druid.
turn 3:play land, tap two lands(no hideaway) and druid, play plumeater, then make plumeater huge.use one green mana pay the hideaway cost.
This could definitely be a nice G/B beatdown deck. I wouldnt focus on the combo, but I also wouldnt ignore it.
This deck could certainly use some Doomgapes. You can just sac a Finks to it and then use the Plumeater(codename: Little Jack Horner)to give the Finks his second life back again. Swing with the Doomgape, then Rite of Consumption it. Oooowww...and then you have the new 2BB Ashling coming out? B/G is looking disgustingly powerful, and that's not even talking Elves.
I think the deck could use some Birds if Devoted Druid is not decided on. Doomgapes are a must imo, and I think a couple of Profane Commands could help significantly.
I gggrrreeeaaatly look forward to the EVE Pre-release, and I will be sure to let you all know the results of EVE's era of G/B once I try it out, even if it doesent end up running this combo.
myuu: I see I was not the only trickster thinking of running Pacts of Negation. I am considering sideboarding a few in G/B Elves to make sure my victory swing isnt shut down with a dawn charm/cryptic.
P.S.
Who needs porn mags when you have Rite of Consumption on a Doomgape?
you have a good chance to combo of also if you play different parts the opponent doesn't know which one to kill

My new houserules:
1. Every player saing exiled or battlefield will be kicked out.
2. Not using you mana deals 2 points of manaburn.
3. Combat damage goes over the Stack and you can freely assign it.
4. Lifelinks does stack and doesn't safe you from dying.
5. Tokens are owned bye the one who has made them.

Makeshift Mannequin might be a good way to protect the combo in this deck. It allows you to get your creature back and then remove the counter from it. Also, a card like Chameleon Colossus or Mosswort Troll that have natural synergy with rite of consumption could be good additions. Colossus also gives you the aggro way out. I also feel like Manamorphose would be great in this deck because it fixes colors and lets you dig faster. Mosswort Bridge might be a great option as well because you dig through four cards on turn 1 and grab your rite of consumption for the turn 3 win.
