Back to the main deck 3sphere. It didn't stay out long. Have done some more testing against reanimator and it seems 50/50 with or without board as if they have a nuts draw you may be relegated to watching. On the plus side there's MD answers a plenty. Also was the first player to say it was hard to play against the deck.

Seems like a heavy tournament month over here... And on that note sideboard updates.
Been looking for some cards to fit in the board and should be trying out two new ones. Timely reinforcements is one I'm curious about the most. I have run pulse of the fields in similar builds but it seems like reinforcements will do more.
The other card I'm a little excited about is beacon of destruction. It seems like it can also do many things in the deck plus it adds a shuffle effect which is always great.
So hopefully I can relay some more info in a week about how the changes worked out.

Good luck this month. Let me know what you played against how it went. It might be valuable and could be used on the primer I'm writing up. So far 8 pages of yellow paper LOL

I am convinced that WotC is "dumbing" the game because of all the stupid posts they come across on MTG-related forums
So unfortunately on account of a modern gp and a blizzard we had a tip roaring turnout of 4 people. Games were still played though so I can give that.
Vs affinity: this felt like I could never lose. Also got to see timely reinforcements be amazing. Is it better then warmth though?
Vs BUG delver: blood moon main is MVP. Beacon in game 2. Drew poorly game 3.
Esper walkers: from the infamous Joel and taxes comes this. Planeswalkers are good and a problem for me. Needle and Orings to the rescue. Also a third game where reinforcements shined.
So at the very least I learned timely reinforcements are timely. I was probably correct when I first thought 3 even though I ended up with 2. Mox opal created a win because of a jace TMS fateseal which felt like a highlight. Which makes me confident that cutting one mox diamond was also correct. The cut down to one pyroblast and REB also seems right. They felt situational a lot of times but in a good way strengthening the chants. I am still liking the idea of story circle in the board and the singleton MD hate is fast becoming the all stars of the deck.
I'll probably post the updated list later today.

So this is the updated list I played. Lost a land and mox for pithing needle and an opal. I do like the opal as it is a better top deck then the mox diamond. As a one of you see it rarely but has been playable when I do.
I think I've said it before but timely reinforcements is amazing in the deck to the point I am considering 4. The main deck I think is locked in right now. I haven't experienced an unfavorable match up yet, only bad draws ...granted I've kept some very greedy hands as well.

I did see blind obedience and I like it. Assemble the legion I'm undecided about. It feels like it needs 3 turns to be worth it (to get 3 guys total from it). Other then that, a better fault line? Sign me up.

While I'm thinking about it I will post this here genju of the fields
I had played this in Quinn and am thing this could be a warmth replacement. It is also possible as a one of main. I like the interaction between tax and the genju. Since I seem to keep forgetting about it now its here for others to see and consider.
Thoughts?

Blind obedience turn 1 against affinity sounds funny. ATL seems like it could be quite the wincon to beat decay and the tokens stack up really fast. 1 to 3 to 6 to 10 to dead for sure.
Blood moon seems amazing right now. You should probably bump up the number to 2 or 3 as BUG cannot really beat the card. This deck looks a lot better now though.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
It is amazing what putting done effort into a deck does. It was just hard for me to get of the vintage idea I wanted to run with. I agree blood moon is amazing. I have wanted a second in board but I'm not there yet. Plus chant into blood moon still works wonders.

I've played Parfait in vintage and through that I always found Abeyance is a good card for activated abilities. I wouldn't toss 4 in the maindeck but possibly 2 in the main and 2 in the side. I don't have much experience with it in Legacy. So I hope that helps.

Again from Quinn experience... I wanted to play abeyance because it cantrips, in practice silence is so much better. Abeyance doesn't feel legacy good; That has been my experience.

This deck is definitely not jank. I don't think any of us truly know what the best build or even color combination is though. There are too few people thinking about it IMO.
I agree with Finn. The hardest part about piloting the deck is that you don't know how to optimally play it since the last time it's played competitively as an established list is almost a decade ago.
I am not the greatest Magic player but I managed to come second with one of the MTGS tournaments. This is with little knowledge when to mulligan. I am not saying the deck is the greatest but I can see the deck being established in the near future.
Storm-based combo is at all time low and Midrange is dominating the format. This deck has great answers to Midrange. It's only a matter of time.
As for the Primer, all I gotta do is type it. Hopefully I get a day off sometime this week so I can type it up. I have to admit, I rushed the last part and it still feels incomplete but I did my research and all.

I see parfait and get reminded of why I picked up Quinn. I saw a deck that has no bad match ups. All the tools are there. I feel confident in saying storm, even in high numbers, is very winnable pre board. Sadly some times you face the nuts and have to settle for garbage. That's magic for you. Random chance is a thing.
As far as mulligans it seems straightforward to me, granted I have been playing it a lot as well.

Thank god I played Parfait in Vintage before. I got about 90% of the maindeck. Just missing a few sideboard cards. I would run 3 Blood Mooons in the main deck though. So many decks get wrecked by it.

I agree decks get wrecked by it. I just can not justify multiple main. One of the strengths of the deck is being able to blank so many cards opponents can play. To top it off just about every card is a threat. With one main I am able to minimize red as all it is there for is to play 1 blood moon and double damage with belcher if it comes to that. Even with board red isn't that necessary, but it just adds so much.

I know, I know. So many cards, so little room. But traditional Parfait always ran a slew of 1-of cards as silver bullets for the E. Tutor to find (back when Ivory Mask was playable in Vintage). With an active Tax/Rack out E. Tutor is basically a mono white instant speed Demonic Tutor. That why I loved playing parfait.
