@You're welcome!
But to be honest, I just wanted to start a second off-topic discussion in this thread.
>Sorry, I just didnt know where else to ask.
Btw: Unless you know more than I do, the Ooze is only part of the Commander decks.
You're 100% right though I got the two threads confused.
And no I am completely ignorant about the validity of the Comm, cards becoming released later. But some would be fine in M13, imo.
What would you rate Archivist at 630? 900? never? I think you said non-blue would value it more, completely agree, but I have a lot of these effects in blue, and it should be easy to get for my cardboard Cube.
Chandra's Pheonix I think gets 180, at least playtest at 180, and it looks really promising. Thanks for showing me the link, now I can run Pheonix in my Stack.
If you want to support blue decks that have a significantly lower curve than the average deck, Archivist can be a good way to refill your hand with gas, even though such a deck might be better of with just playing playing one of the blue mana denial cards (Sunder / Rising Waters) and ending the game asap. (The same way as cards like Night's Whisper or Harmonize are very poor card choices for aggro decks).
Only based on the powerlevel, the Phoenix would not make it into a 180 cards cube, but as one of the better 3 mana creatures, I think it would be a good idea to include it over some of the 2s or 4s.
Yeah, I think youre right eidolon232, Archivist looks more like a pet card the more I listen to your analysis of it.
Yeah the manacost is too much. If it was one mana cheaper... Well still it would struggle I quess... Lists with 360-450 cards are becoming so tight...
i don't think a strictly better stone rain would struggle in mid sized cubes. it does exactly what aggro wants, it can have a similar effect to molten rain. i would definitely play it at 500.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.

Agreed, I'd try to fit another 3cc LD spell into my 460 anyway. And I already play Stone Rain. Maybe I'd just cut Stone Rain for it though..
According to some sleuth-work in the Rumor Mill, Jace, Chandra, and Garruk will be new versions in M12. Maybe we'll finally get a second planeswalker for green and red in the cube.

i hope chandra gets a promo or something, because i don't want to have to look at her miley cyrus duckface while i'm cubing.

+2 Search your library, put a basic land onto the battlefield tapped
+1 Put a 2/2 Wolf onto the battlefield
-6 Put a 2/2 Wolf onto the battlefield for each creature and land you control.
Loyalty : 3
i have absolutely no evidence that this is real at all, but apparently it's what a random poster in rumor mill is claiming for garruk. i'm kind leaning toward not real. it's obviously good but i'm not a fan of the triple green.

I think and hope, judging by how they appear to be designing the planeswalkers pet cards to be synergistic, that these are not Garruk's abilities.

That seems fine considering the casting cost. I hope it's real, but who knows. The triple color won't be near as hard to come by in green. It is the color of fixing after all.
It's not very intuitive, but I'd play that Garruk all day.
Totally agreed. The triple green is poopy, but better green than any other color. Two good plus abilities makes him awesome. I'd love to draft him and Sarkhan Vol in the same deck. Fun times!

but i would know. she would be in my head, mocking me with her kissy face.
I don't know if I buy it. Not sure if its been brought up but given the templating of the planeswalker helper creatures I think we can pretty much count on new garuuk's first ability to be a Worldly Tutor.
If it's real, I would cube it. Here's the most relevant part:
4 CMC with 5 loyalty and an extra land in play. Like, how is this not insane just on its own? Disregarding the fact that you can't overrun the next turn anymore, this gives the green mage a lot more resilience - you get actual ramp instead of "ramp as long as garruk is on the field", and a much larger loyalty buffer. I don't know if anyone's played with recurrable fetchlands (like with Sun Titan), but that kind of effect is really powerful turn-after-turn.
His second ability, as a +1, is so much better than his existing -1. The size of his beasts was never that important. Here again, we see the planeswalker focusing more on staying around than immediately blowing his load.
The last ability is not as good as overrun, but still potentially game-winning. You have to wait a turn unless you've got a Fires of Yavimaya effect. Could be good with Urabrask in Standard.
All in all, it's a balanced card. I could see something like it being printed. I'm not convinced it's the real deal yet though.

This is why they invented doggy style and backwards cowgirl. And paper bags.
