I'm just curious as to whether Deathrite Shaman will see play in modern. It seems highly likely, but would their be better cards that would be more efficient in "Dredge" decks?
Deathrite Shaman is probably the most played card from RTR in Modern. It sees high play in a variety of decks. Jund for example, plays Deathrite Shaman.
If you are looking for something specifically for Dredge, you might want to try Birds of Paradise if you want something that doesn't effect your graveyard. Then again, you might find yourself with excess cards in your graveyard to target, and you can always target your opponent's graveyard as well.
I've just checked the card again. I've just realised it costs ONE.:o
I would like to use it for my upcoming Orzhov deck when Gatecrash comes out. The black ability is enough.
yeah it fits well in many types of decks. just be sure to splash green so you have game versus burn-based aggro (or if its a modern deck, to almost completely negate the downside of Dark Confidant :P)
For Dredge decks, it is honestly terrible. Just horrible.

Since he's new I'm inclined to think this is an oversight.
OP, you should check out mtgtop8.com, it has tons of tournament results and breakdowns by deck type.
I think "legit <snip>" is my new favorite slang term.
Well we won't be using that term here. Potentially offensive text removed, warning issued.
