If you could do that, then it'd be more efficient to just pay RR2 then keep kicking it onto the same target because each 1 mana pumped into the multikick would be like spending 2 on X. It would essentially become a burn spell that reads
RR
Multikick 1
Deal 2 damage to target creature & an additional 2 damage to that creature for each time ~ was kicked.
Not exactly. If you spent 7 mana, you could make X=2 and kick 3 times for 8 damage, or you could make X=3 and kick 2 times for 9 damage. You will always get the greatest returns by keeping X and the number of kicks+1 as close together as possible.
But that form would be a little bit crazy, 7 mana would be 9 damage and 8 mana would be 12 damage, 9 mana would be 16 damage.
This spell would be so much fun if mana flare was back.
Don't forget you can target the same player with each kick. That means 20 damage can be done for 10 mana at instant speed. that is super strong especially in a ramp deck.

This is a decent card as a 1 of or maybe 2 of in Grixis or WUr control. Not sure why its mythic but... *shrug*. It shouldnt be that hard to get ahold of, only a couple decks can play it and those only want 1-2.
Edit: I see a few ppl want to put this in GR ramp. I think its bad there.. Or rather Lavalanche is just better.
For multi-targetting purposes, wouldn't a simple Volcanic Fallout cut it? In MRA, the only creature that really sticks around for more than a turn is goblin guide.
This is a mythic? Their mythics have just been terrible choices. If this is the kind of crap they want to make mythic they may as well get rid of the rarity, or limit it to just the few Planeswalkers and Baneslayer Angel.
Unplayable in constructed, unless there is a way to generate lots of mana very quickly. Better alternatives in casual. An absolute house in limited, and will ruin limited games any time it's played. Well at least it's mythic. Way to go wizards:/

This is very likely mythic for limited purposes. It will probably be very difficult to lose a game where one casts this card in sealed and most drafts, so I can see Wizards wanting to limit the amount of times that situation comes up.
Yeah, but I'll take that over it being an uncommon and ruining tons of limited games (Hi Fireball, what's up?). At least since it sucks in constructed outside of EDH, it'll cost maybe two bucks to pick up.

But they could've made it rare and balanced, and not waste a mythic spot.

I'd rather they waste the mythic spots, thank you. Maybe you enjoy paying two hundred dollars to buy into playing white in standard, but I don't. The more mythics that are trash, the better.
Um, this looks like the definition of a mythic to me. Lets see:
10RR: Deals 6 damage to 3 creatures and 1 player, utterly blowing them out. Merely 12 mana! And in magical christmas land, can utterly one-sided wrath a player, and get them near dead!
Compares well with UUWWRRBBGG for a 10/10 protection from everything in terms of 'timmy power' which is what they're aiming for in mythics.
Also, they've stated that they kinda dropped the ball in Alara with Mythics, making too many of them stupid fat creatures, and too few spells. I think if they could redo it, at a bare minimum Lavalanch would be mythic (which would have made it 100x better, as a card)
If this forum had Greasers, Phoenix, Commons and Semantics would be the leaders of the gang and every time they commented on something they would do a synchronized finger snap then smoke a cigarette.
SOOOOO sigged.
And Comet Storm is freakin' amazing, control is back baby.
peace
^-- And this is exactly why these forums are for whiny little babies who can't deal with the fact that they are wrong. So they go cry to a mod. Lawl.

No you can't, read the card again.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.
Thanks for being so respectful in your reply.

1 for each target (multikicker), 1 for each damage at each chosen targets... or I'm wrongly understanding the card?

Yep, you are. fireball you have to divide the damage up, with this the damage is static and you just assign more targets.
Fireball is cool and all but Instant speed is pretty nice.

I beg to defer.
Urza's Rage feels incredibally mythic to me.
Regardless, I agree that this doesn't feel mythic at all.
