I'm a bit sad to see Ajani go, seeing as he was the only non human looking base set walker (c'mon, Sorin might be a vampire but they basically look human). Also, isn't Lilliana supposed to be closely tied with Jace and Garruck story wise? Seems weird to cut her.
I don't understand how come people are saying "it can't be TMS" I think it probably is. They already changed the "original" roster which means that probably is Chandra Ablaze and Jace TMS. Jace in M12 would lower its price (as it did to BSA after appearing in 2 sets)...and again, Blue is not guilty of WoTC printing crappy walkers for red(Chandra) and Black(Sorin)...though in my opinion Sorin is a bit better than Vess...even if it's not Jace TMS, Gideon is a great weapon to keep in White (fingers crossed that Squadron Hawk makes it too...jejejeje)
please, dont say youve got "a source" that tells you about cards coming up. ive heard it everywhere, and 99.8% of the time its bullcrap. so dont go spreading rumors around, especially if theyre not backed up. im pretty sure there's another thread for that.
Also, i was thinking this was just for the new Duels of the Planeswalkers video game, but it looks like the game is tying in with the Core Set. http://www.gamespot.com/events/paxeast2011/video.html?sid=6303529
now, printing gideon will make me endlessly happy. especially cause he'll probably drop to around $15-20. and i do need a coupla him.
Don't tell me what to say and what not to say, holmes.
THe next set is New Phyrexia, there's a Karn walker and Garruk 2.0 (m12) costs five and makes beasts as a +1. Sig this if you like and laugh if I'm wrong. I'm trying to do you a favor, superstar.
Does anyone else find it funny, if not almost annoying, when people say to not spread rumors in the Rumor Mill? How people are still so ignorant to how we get information in the Rumor Mill after all these years is baffling. Telling a source not to give us their rumored information because there's a chance it could be false? Really?
Hey Lore Geeks: Why do Venser and Garruk have the same helmet?
Magic? As far as I know it's not the same helm, it just looks similar. Sort of like how two guys wear a red shirt one day, they don't have the same shirt but rather similar shirts that they happened to decide to wear.

Speaking of Hot women planeswalkers, is Jaya Ballard ever going to come back? It kinda bothers me that that thread is still hanging.
Unfortunately Jaya Ballard is long dead (of old age if nothing else... damn mending :frown:), however we have a prefectly reasonable stand-in in Chandra Nalar.

Personally I love Chandra. Granted I maybe bias (she was my 1st PW & I <3 Redheads) but I think if Chandra Nalar was a little cheaper (2RR instead of 3RR) she'd be the perfect R PW.

I'd like an Angel, Faerie or Dryad planeswalker myself.
Me too! Considering how important Angels have been to White it's actually kind of a surprise there hasn't been one yet. A Faerie Planeswalker would be a nice change of pace, a small cute Planeswalker would be fun to have (well, not all of Magic's faeries are cute...) And Dryads, hey, they can walk through forests, why not Planes!? I'm just worried if they did that her +1 would be "Target creature gains Forestwalk until end of turn" Or her ultimate would just give all your creatures Forestwalk (which CAN be powerful, but if that's all she did...) On the other hand, a Planeswalker that could also turn your opponents lands into Forests could be really interesting, and quite different from Garruk or Nissa. But that's only thinking narrowly, I'm sure they could do more with a Dryad Planeswalker. (preferably better than my ideas too)
As long as they slow down the amount of new male human planeswalkers, I'm okay...

So a Dryad Planeswalker would have one ability to search for forests, a second ability to give your creatures forestwalk while turning your opponents lands into forests in addition to their other land types, and maybe a third ability to give your creatures shroud?
An Angel Planeswalker should have damage prevention, protection from certain colors, and maybe creature revival?
A Rat Planeswalker should probably have some sort of discard or graveyard mechanic effect, an ability that works with the rat creature type, maybe a second ability that works with the rat creature type as well (target opponent loses life and sacrifices permanents equal to the number of rats under your control?), and/or the ability to make Rat Tokens.
A Faerie Planeswalker should be a card drawing/discarding/countering machine of cuteness and terror.
Lastly, a Squirrel Planeswalker should make Squirrel Tokens equal to the number of Squirrels in play, give Squirrels a Power/Toughness boost of some kind, and then the ability to give your Squirrels Deathtouch, Flying, First Strike, Haste, Lifelink, Trample, and Vigilance.
A Faerie Planeswalker would be a nice change of pace, a small cute Planeswalker would be fun to have (well, not all of Magic's faeries are cute...)
As a sidenote, I find it unfortunate that they didn't apply the Lorwyn look of Faeries and Elves to all the other planes, and Shadowmoor's Merfolk as well. They looked so much better on that plane.

shouldn't it be more a matter of assessing at least the tiniest morsel of truth from a rumor before declaring it viable to post, otherwise it slowly begins to blend with speculation and the streams are crossed? i think having that buffer zone (that is, giving some semblance of credibility besides a vow of one's most honorable blessing) is enough to stifle everyone from posting rumors they heard from 'they gramma' and such.
idk, that's just the impression i got, don't mean to patronize.
that being said, Garruk is pretty flekking giant, although it's likely chalked up to artist rendition, the fact that he's a normal size human in his previous card and HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULK SMAAAAASH in this one does give me a little bit of hope for a new card.
So, I am pretty sure this is the picture for Magic Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012, not the Magic set, as confirmed by this.
This doesn't mean that they replaced the old walkers. Therefore, we cannot reach the conclusion that they have. (Though there is some hints to it.)
@Chandra Discussion: Her shoulders only look weird because she is bending backwards for emphasis, but her armor doesn't exactly follow what her body is doing.

DailyMTG says it's for both M12 and Duels of the Planeswalkers.
Sorin and Gideon as-is do seem weird for a coreset...
If I came home and my girl was waiting in the bedroom with one of them around her midsection, I'd be thinking it was pretty weird too. Mainly that they were still spelled wrong.
It's a wait-and-see game, people. It's doubtful they'll all be new because that would limit the number of other mythics they can print. You really think all the Titans will be back? That'd hurt.
lol the shoulders thing was because there was a lower quality image attached before the one from wizards was added, which made it look like her arms weren't attached to anything and her shoulders were kind of disconnected from the rest of her body.
Anyways with Innistrad I fully expect a new Garruk either in the next block or in M12 to follow the storyline with Liliana.
I also like to imagine that he has a rotating torso (like a metallic graft that fuses his upper and lower body together), so he can spin all around, leveling everything within 20ft of him to rubble.
Being too tired right now to read the pages I missed, did anyone mention the inclusion of Undermine in the Duals demo at PAX? I know I talked with almost every person working demos at the booth and everyone who worked for WotC I could find and they all told me that all the cards featured in the playable demo were likely to be in M12, and therefore in the Duals decks...
I hate him... I can´t see him anymore...
Couldn´t they choose Elspeth to be the new PW in M12???
Because Elspeth is in Scars, and as is obvious from Lilliana's role in Innistrad WotC don't want to print walkers in a core set released right before/after a block they feature in.

Oh right, the tendril things blended into the background a bit.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)

Take a mechanic from the pre-mirrodin era, and a mechanic after the mirrodin era, and create a card that flavorfully melds both mechanics.
