Onslaught fetches are way more needed than zendikar fetches, ones go for 25$ and the others for 10$.
Are they? Seems like I do just fine with Zen fetches in Legacy. Running with duals, most of the time it doesn't seem to matter which fetch is out.

I just want people who redraft to admit this:
"I can't draft objectively unless I am able to guarantee that I receive at least 3 rares. I am also better than most average/new players so I want to make sure that I get the best rares and they end up with worse ones. I care more about the monetary value of cards than actually playing the game for decent prizes."

in a 5 color deck any fetches work... on a 3 color deck having the right fetches is a lot more important...

If you run blue/black for example you need the U/B fetch, right? What if your opponent plays turn 1 blood moon and you need a basic island and you have the B/W fetch? You lose? And this is just an example of many.

if they run a turn 1 blood moon it doesn't matter what color fetch you have... your fetch is a mountain.
And it really doesn't matter because the idea of wasting rare slots on fetchlands seems so unlikely that.... wel, it's very unlikely.
We should start seeing previews in a week, yeah? Actually since next weekend is the release and they like to do a whole "here's the new set" week anyone else think we'll start seeing these things at Wizards on the 23rd?
I honestly don't think we're going to see any fetches here... I really wish people would be a little more realistic. The draw is going to be in the "new" cards, and maybe one or two "nifty" surprises in the reprints. But nothing so cut and dry like a fetch. These products are made to introduce people to a format, and then let them add the "goods" later.
For the price, I would certainly HOPE that we're going to see some powerful stuff... but I'm thinking we'll see them in the new cards to draw in those of us who are established in EDH already. Functional reprints that are reworded to include "each player" as opposed to "target player."
Who cares, with the money you make selling the fetchland you can buy 98% of the rares that exist.
Some of us want a good product that we can actually play with. I have all the cards I need so with these I am looking for a well designed and well balanced set of decks. The financial value isn't the only value of these.

I'm somewhat indifferent on the financial value as well. I'm going to buy one of each and my wife and I are going to canabalize the crap out of them because we always end up doing that. Assuming the *new* cards are worth playing.
Because really, thats what I want -- the new cards. I could care less how strong they are for legacy, but I'm REALLY hoping that each of the decks includes *new* cards that scale up with the number of players.
Not if it's in your hand. You can respond to the blood moon itself with the fetch, but once blood moon is out, your fetch is a mountain as soon as it etb and there is no intervening time where you can sac it.

Blood Moon hoses nonbasics pretty hard.
How often do you see a turn 1 Blood Moon? You need a pretty godly hand to do it, and then your hand is usually lacking gas after that.

Really?? I surely didn't know that! I'll stop playing lands in my opponents turns then!
WotC doesn't think about the secondary market dollar value of the cards too much. Remember, they don't make money off that anyway. That's Star City. I mean, WotC actually wants to lower the secondary market value of older cards by printing more copies of them so other formats are more accessible to players. They can't tank the market so much that people get unhappy about their "lost value" (like they wouldn't reprinted moxes today even if the reserve list didn't exist). But I'd be happy if every deck contained a Sol Ring, for example, and it that cut the market price of Sol Ring from $10 to $8, that would be a good thing.
I mean, they could include Doubling Season in a deck if they wanted, but it's not like they're saying "okay, that's $25 of card budget". Merely printing the card in the deck changes the market value in unpredictable ways. Look at what reprinting Sliver Overlord did. And no one is in a huff that Sliver Overlord isn't a $15 card anymore.
The problem with defining [EDH] by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Hunted Horror is actually pretty sweet; you get a 7/7 trampler for BB (!), and if you can convince somebody not to attack you, you give them two pro-black 3/3's. Ditto for Hunted Phatasm (unblockable 4/6 for 1UU). Would be great to give those five 1/1 goblins to an opponent running Voracious Dragon... so long as s/he doesn't use them/it against you.

Certainly hope not... Just because EDH is a multiplayer format doesn't mean you can't 1v1 with them. All the "hunted" creatures are terrible in that regard, and I hope WotC realizes this.

It's a multiplayer format, these are multiplayer cards. I fail to see the problem.

As much as I think those cards are junk, I can see them in these decks too. Death by Dragons is already sort of like them. I hope they aren't printed just because they have always felt pretty weak, but they are a logical reprint if they wanted to find political multiplayer cards from the past.

wotc is making this product for multiplayer. They're including multiplayer-specific cards like death by dragons specially FOR this release. This is their multiplayer product, like archenemy and planechase. So I'm sure they don't care whatsoever about 1v1 EDH. Besides, it's 1/100 cards. Who cares.
That said, I wouldn't give the hunted's a great chance of showing up, although it's possible. I think it's extremely weird when people say "I'm POSITIVE X card will show up" considering there are well over 10,000 cards in the game. We won't know until they tell us, or it's leaked. Speculation before then without evidence is pretty pointless.

In response I sacrifice my fetch...?

somewhat regularly against the deck designed to do it (theres 8 blood moons in the deck) almost never from any other deck.

I thought you were referring to sandbagging the fetch activation until someone else's turn. Forgive me for assuming the logical.
