The splash shows a Gideon with an Msomething as his Expansion. Doesn't it?
EDIT: After putting it in 720, it clearly is M12. And the Collectors number looks like 2xx
It does! I think they re-upped the video (because the first link broke) and the second one has this! The first didn't, I don't think. Thank goodness, I might be able to finish my playset of Gideon!

Thanks for the picture, made this easier. The background of the other planeswalkers is very similar to the originals. So just a reprint cycle then?
"How did you know what you sought was redemption and not righteous vengeance?"
"You know what's dangerous about you, Doctor? It's not that you make people take risks, it's that you make them want to impress you. You make it so they don't want to let you down. You have no idea how dangerous you make people to themselves when you're around."
1. Was the Angel he summoned Platinum Angel or was that just me?
2. I honestly don't think we will get updated versions of anything. Yes, Jace 1.0 seems small, but he also seems small in comparison to most other things anyway. The issue here is what the planeswalkers fill in the format of a core set and the base 5 (with the inclusion of Sorkin and Gideon) do a good job of rounding out the color pie. .
1. yeah, it had that look. (the shield is a pretty good visual identifier)
Dang. I guess they're reprints. Looks like I'm ordering some Gideons soon.
Looks that way to me. I don't know if I wanna finish my playset now, or wait to see if he drops when M12 comes out.
Edit: Also, looks like the HD version of the re-upped video is a 320MB quicktime mov. If anyone has gamestop plus and can download that version, I'm sure we could probably get a better look at those cards

Baneslayer dropped in price after its reprint (and it saw almost zero play because of Titans, lol). I'll be getting two from Rise print and get the others after a price drop.
At least Garruk is the same as I have 2 DotP Xbox promos that can still see some Standard play :D.

Baneslayer was also only the price she was because she was shafted when it came to her print run... It is easy to expect a price drop when a card is in such high demand and low supply and gets a reprint.

Just a gut reaction but I think that the Gideon in the pic might be shop'd. I can't prove it but here is why I think it might be...
1) Normally they keep the PWs fairly simple for a Core Set and Gideon's 0-cost Ability will look very odd to new player in comparison to the other Walkers in the set.
2) If Wotc was going to print a new Gideon (along with the other 4) then it'd make more sense to put the original Gideon on the trailer and then just shop' the symbol, rather then spoil the new card.
Again it's just a gut reaction but I don't think that the M12 Gideon will be Gideon Jura, think it will be a new Gideon.

The World of Pokemon RPG has been rebooted. Come over and check it out.
1) I don't think they would just show Alara over and over and not tie it in, somehow. I'm not sold on "they didn't have art", because saying Wizards doesn't have art, is like saying that the ocean doesn't have fish.
2) That was definitely Platinum Angel above Gideon's head.
the video is official what more info do you want?...
What I meant was they just spent an entire block's spoiler seasons trying to make us wonder whether the last set would be New Phyrexia or Mirrodin Pure, why would they just throw this at us out of the blue. They could easily have just photoshop'd the symbol onto a RoE Gideon. Besides I never said it wasn't official, just that all might not be what it seems like it is at first glance.

It's not exactly out of the blue. They had a similar (albeit shorter) teaser trailer in the exact style, back in March here.
They're trying to ramp hype for DotP 2012, as well as the core set. That's why they intro'd the promo titans a while back too. So this is hardly out of the blue. (Even if they did shop M12 symbols onto him :D)
If you guys look very, very closely, you'll see that the background art seems slightly different than the originals.
Only ones that look like the art is the same are Gideon (obviously) and Sorin.
The rest have different shades/positioning of colors.
Look very closely and you might see what I see.
In fact, the Chandra art resembles the new art from the Toolbox moreso than the old art... I hate that art so much...
I can't seem to find a full art pic of the new Jace art for comparison, so it's hard to say if the M12 Jace will have the new art or not. His art in the background does look slightly different from the original.

You know what, you're right. When I first saw them, it looked similar to me, so I just wrote them off as reprints. they're definitely different. Shopping up something now.

I'm going to throw this out there real quick.
Different art does not mean completely new card.
Reprints get different art occasionally. So even if the art is different, we wont truly know if these are reprints or not until they are actually spoiled.

True enough. But it gives me enough to believe that we're probably getting at least new art. I present to you this;
It's very scientific, I assure you. :3 (click for better quality png (same res))
(also, I used Ablaze, because Nalaar wasn't even close)

This is all true. What also doesn't help the case of new art meaning new cards, is that in the past Wizards has used the prospect of new art for older cards as a way to hype the set in itself; There's been more than one occasion where they've asked players to vote for new artwork for old cards (such as the current artwork for 8th Edition Grave Pact and 10th Edition Lord of the Pit.

Great job! looks good. I would dare venture to say that Sorin is a definite Reprint whereas the others are still up in the air but at least with new art. I had considered doing the same, but it wouldn't have been quite the same quality.

I'm going to do my own little speculation here and say everyone's getting new art, but they used Gideon's original art so that the new art would be a surprise.
Just from what I can see of what we all believe to be Chandra's card (I'm going to leave room to be wrong), there's no way I'll believe it's her old art. The orange glowy bit is too close to the side to be (original art) Chandra Nalaar, and too far away to be Chandra Ablaze. At the very least, new art.
The coloration on (possibly) Jace's and (possibly) Garruk's cards looks a little off (moreso on Jace's than Garruk's), so I'll guess new art there, too. Funny thing is, just from the little bit we see of Sorin's(?) card looks about the same to me. I could argue that since he's only had one art before that they didn't think people were tired of looking at him yet, but then would they replace Gideon's art? Those of us not using him are sick of looking at him, but his art is still fresher than the Lorwyn 5's.
Not that it amounts to much now, but I'm in the camp that hopes they create brand new cards for everybody. In such an instance, however, they'll also have to have new arts for everybody so that the cards can be distinguished from the past ones.
Didn't they say somewhere that we were getting new Garruk and no Lorwyn walkers? Jace and his edges look different to me. We have the new Chandra art since ages as well, and they said ablaze was a failure. I seriously doubt that they would have most of the mythics be reprints. All it takes is 3 new walkers to sell the heck out of a set.
If the walkers are reprints (and I suspect they all are) I'm personally hoping for Chandra Ablaze rather than her first form.
She's still relatively expensive for what she does, but I find her quite fun to play with.

Brian Tinsman, Set Designer :?mana::snow::snow:
Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"
2/2
So basically what I got from this was that the planeswalkers are all out doing their own thing and getting into little turf wars, and then nicol bolas comes up with some grand scheme (hey, it's already been two blocks since his last one!) and the planeswalkers have to give up their little gang conflicts and voltron together to stop him.
Hmmm...I just noticed something else with those cards...
If you look at Gideon's +2 box...then look to the left, and then to the left, and then to the left again....
See anything strange? There should at least be an edge of each cards + ability...yet none of them are visible. Even more, you should be able to see the Type Box...but none of them have that either.
Unfinished "background" cards then? I think everything we speculated about new art is out the window... Back to Square 1 I say.
When did they say that?
... guess I'm the ONLY person who likes her...

Where's that from? That's absolutely GORGEOUS art for Chandra. And yeah, that looks pretty damn close to me.
Hollow Voices: Maybe so. If someone can get a hold of that 320MB copy of that video, the increased detail might help answer that
