...Interesting so far. A cycle like this is hard to pull off well because it's nigh-impossible to make a 3-part combo without 'insta-win' potential playable in constructed (which it really doesn't look like these will be...) and having them all at Uncommon-or-higher rarity makes it doubtful that you'll actually assemble them in limited. And printing them at Common wouldn't make sense by flavor.
Fun idea, but I really don't have a lot of confidence that these will turn out anything but clunky and unfun.
I really like the draft tension in that the effects are all worthwhile on their own, but not bomby, but if you assemble the voltron you auto-win basically.

The problem is that with all 3 playable by themselves and colorless, the chance of getting a full set is really low.
I'm gonna guess that the Throne gives a 4\4 angel, as others have also guessed. I'm really liking these pieces, I just hope we get a good enabler or something.

if the crown or the other pieces die does the mind control end?
I don't think so....not entirely sure though. What would happen if you activate the mind control ability and one of the other pieces bites the dust before it resolves? Does it change back to it's original ability?

Hehe, R&D had an M12 draft earlier today and apparently somebody managed to assemble all three. I don't know for sure if they won that game, but I assume they did.
Edit: The control effect is permanent, and doesn't matter if you lose control of any of the artifacts.

For the mind control effect to end at the departure of the crown you would need in place a house rule to act as the Cartesian source of the control effect fracture. The house rule would have to be something like all permanents which alter control of a card, spell, or permanent contain a latent triggered ability which revert control of said card, spell, or permanent to their owner on leaving the battlefield.
I am very sorry if this is coming off as at all sarcastic or rude. That is not at all my intent. Your question is a good one and you deserve to know (although there are rules forums ...). It just tickles me that house rules can act as the Cartesian source of an event that transpires in a game, just as the comprehensive rules do.
I wonder what kind of shenanigans could be had with these three with some metalcraft, since they, sorta, activate it themselves once all three are out.
Guess I'll have to see the rest of the throne to pass final judgement.

If you have all 3 out, you don't need Metalcraft cards to win.

Nope. Though Indomitable Archangel might work as additional protection once you've assembled the set.
I'd rather use Tezzeret if I was going to build a deck for these, though. Sift through the top of your library for your combo pieces, turn one into a 5/5 in a pinch, etc.
Wow, the crown just made me want to make a (janky) combo deck for the kitchen table that centers around them. Get all three and win :s

Even if the author is silenced, the performance is stopped, the story will not end.
Whether it's a comedy or a tragedy, if there is cheering, the story will continue on.

Crown of Empire is a bomb in limited. Can lock down a creature and set up for a kill. If you HAPPEN to get all three (very unlikely, especially if you can bring them all on the field), then it's just LOL.
The throne is pretty good in limited also. Making a 1/1 each turn is good i heard.
I really don't think this set is any good for constructed standard, but still. Like most shrine, really good stuff in limited.
There's a good chance that it will be bad but I don't care :P.

I expect with this [Transform] mechanic that everyone playing a Werewolf tribal deck will say "Autobots, rollout!" whenever the majority of their army transforms.

Just realized these aren't even legendary. I think we can make a deck out of this.

lol I'm with you. If these cards can't convince anyone to make a combo deck nothing will. Can't wait to see what the throne does.
