I don't have the comprehensive rules next to me, but I think the other guys right. I've definitely had someone try this little trick against me with a Crumbling Colossus in an m12 draft on mtgo and it got exiled on my end of my combat step the following turn. The clauses are worded the same, if you switch exile with sacrifice.
If you use Sundial's ability to end the turn with the trigger on the stack it gets exiled and never happens again. The same happens if you end the turn in response to a Mimic Vat token exile trigger
I believe you have to activate the dial before combat damage is dealt to keep the token, since it is removed at the end of combat. After damage is dealt you go directly into end of combat so you have no space to activate the dial. I think =p
The trigger goes on the stack at the end of combat, and you use the sundial in response

Maybe Crumbling Colossus is different but when this happened on mtgo, my opponent used sundial in response to the trigger like you are saying to do. It still got sacrificed after I got past my combat step on my next turn. I mean, I am basing this on the fact that mtgo is usually right so it could be that its bugged and I'm wrong. I'll accept that fact if I turn out to be.

I don't see a relevant difference between the abilities of Colossus and the Geist. They are both triggered abilities that create a delayed triggered ability that triggers "at end of combat".
Anyway, they are really pushing aggressive hexproof W/U so far. No shortage of powerful creatures that love equipment. And by "no shortage" I mean there are two so far.

That blog says that if you activate it while the trigger is on the stack it does work.

I don't see how that article says that it can't be permanently saved. He says if you use the ability during combat but before the trigger, then he dies next turn. He doesn't say what happens if you activate it with the trigger on the stack.
I like the legendary, a fun commander…but dear god do I love this

The second is guaranteed as a T1 deck that is really good, plus its' mana is better. I would choose #2. However, Eminem is correct, comes down to preference. Eminem was not correct, however, for tying Rihanna to the bed and setting the house on fire.

My bad, apparently I need new eyes. The type of trigger I'm thinking of is one like on Ball Lightning, which will keep trying to sacrifice itself.
I'm not sold on the Geist...you have to have a way to get the 2/2 to sneak through each turn, otherwise the angel is a one shot thing. Seems kinda meh for a mythic.
That, good sir, is the real issue. When has any deck ever had a problem with blocking a 3 mana 2/2? It's a good design for a mythic: I saw it, and went "WHOAMGWTFBBQ," but then, upon further reflection decided it was mainly "very good," not absurd.

Be they worthy or just plain riff-raff, my warhead shall punish all without distinction. -Rip Van Winkle
the problem with the geist is that he's legendary.
now, obviously, that's kind of the point - and he's chock-a-block full of flavour... but from a constructed point of view you're going to hate drawing multiples.

Regarding Taft and sundial of the infinite; the token doesn't have the exile clause, Taft does. "Exile that token at end of combat" would refer only to the token that was just produced, would it not?

Geist lord is another awesome Rafiq card. Especially awesome with finest hour. Every set it seems like they're padding one of the set designers EDH decks.
I love claustrophobia as well. Excellent limited control in my favorite color!
I like the new Mythic with Spirit Mantle. Who knows though, with Zendikar rotating out theres going to be cards that suddenly become playable soon hopefully. Should be fun for casual definitely.
Another card to pump up the graveyard, and yet still no recursion. Hoping for at least ONE effective way to raise creatures.
Spirit legend looks good with Angelic Destiny, but sucks without any kind if evasion. Thinking of a deck with Angelic Destiny, Geist of Saint Traft, Invisible Stalker, Angelic Overseer with swords and other humans.

Because we know MTGO never makes mistakes right?
Splinterfright is ok, a Boneyard Wurm with a bonus, but other than that, I can't really say it's awesome. Good of course, but not awesome.
The Devils at rare is annoying. It's not reliable, and it's 4/4 for 6, which is bad. OK, it can be pumped, but doesn't impress me.
Claustrophobia is ok, what's with Dehydration out....
The Estwald people are ok, but I love their nighttime flavor text

Why, because you get to attack with a 4/4 flyer each turn? Far from scary in commander. And you have to run two subpar cards in order to achieve it.

yeah your correct
really?
this is probly the worst set ive seen since I started playing magic.

im suprised everyone dont just preorder x4 snapcaster mage and then just sit back and wait for the next set

Then that's sad.... this is scaling back of power and a return of the creator of magic himself. It's flavorful and fun.

I love it. It's another piece that is scary without being gory, which I love about the art direction so far in this set.
