The Trepanation Girl's pose is exactly like that of Sun Titan's, and it was bugging me quite a lot until I remembered the exact card she reminds me of.
I've never thought I would say this, but this set's artwork seems to be much darker than in INN. It has much less color, focusing on the shades of black and gray instead. And that's certainly something that I can understand, with the theme of the set and all. My favorite art of the batch is probably the eyeball jar one.
I find it weird with the #8 art of the hunter woman that the vampire behind her has not been dismantled upon being staked. I've seen that trope in so many vampire series' around, maybe they're going the other way with the vampires of Innistrad?
If I'm remembering my Vampire lore correctly, the stake was not meant to kill the vampire but instead simply to keep them in the grave, by "Staking" them to the ground. To kill a Vampire you had to cut off thier head.

Cube. The best way to play Magic. PERIOD. Come over and check it out. Also, check out my Peasant Split Card Cube.
The World of Pokemon RPG has been rebooted. Come over and check it out.
Maybe it's just me, but there seems to be hints of Skeletons becoming a slightly bigger part of this set.
Well considering we're seeing a small chunk of this set's art in these two batches... it's hard to say anything to that type of thing. I mean tomorrow they can just as easily give us 6 pieces with obvious vampire lean.
The Snake Lady is most assuredly not just a generic vampire. Read the flavor text of Ambush Viper. Snake Lady is probably the leader of the Falkenrath clan--Uta Falkenrath.
Considering how trepanation blade is not legendary, I don't see why it wouldn't be one on the art, with some model differences. Intently drawing something that looks like a trepanation blade that is not a trepanation blade sounds like a terrible idea.
I agree. Someone said that Trepanation Blade looks nothing like the sword she is holding, however, I think they look pretty damn similar. Not all swords are made the same. I mean, compare the two.

What does it say about my tweeps (I dislike the term "followers") that of all the available pictures most wanted the jar of eyeballs? maro254 Mark Rosewater
Apparently I would be upsetting a lot of people if my preview card isn't the jar of eyeballs. Good news, tweeps. See you Monday. maro254 Mark Rosewater
By the way, my Twitter preview card will be next Monday and it's one of the cards in this art preview: wizards.com/Magic/Magazine…
Here it is!

YOU ARE SURPRISED BY A MANTICORE! IT QUICKLY SHREDS YOUR FLESH AND DEVOURS YOU!
The art in the first picture depicts Werewolves. The hair. The claws. The howling. They are not Vampires.
Secondly, I'd like to point something out that has been missed. The art in the first picture is during the daytime. If there is anything out like that during the day--and transforming--I can't stress how bad that makes the situation for Humans.
Love the rest of the art. Especially the girl raiding the tomb.
hmm, I sure hope that blade is our bloodletter blade. Who else wants a real spoiler before the official stuff starts? I sure do after seeing this stuff.
is it just me or is it weird that there hasn't been any spoilers yet besides Faithless Looting? i would've thought there would have been at least a few

Eh, not really. NPH had a huge leak, so it seems like they're being a lot more careful with INN and now with DKA.
Don't worry though, official previews start on the 9th, so you won't have to wait much longer.
Also, @Euphony, I think the art might be showing both werewolves and vampires.
Maro tweeted that there would be a card spoiled from this set of pics come Monday. In another tweet he says he would preview the jar full of eyeballs : )

I'm excited! What if the Jar of Eyes is some wild version of Ponder in artifact form? A scrying ability that lets all those eyes see what comes next. Just a though.

I really hope that it's some kind of Ponder-like effect at instant speed with a flashback cost that doesn't cost mana.
I can only hope.... and wait until Monday.

And what the heck is the one in the middle supposed to be?
EDIT: I agree with those who say they are just werewolves. from right to left could even show the transformation of a single individual.

I don't think previews means full on spoilers. It probably just means thats when we get our mechanics article. but I could be wrong.

Even in the mechanics articles, they spoil cards, even if they're not rares or uncommons.

Probably not. It would be a shaman like Ulvenwald Mystics, scout like Woodland Sleuth or just regular human like Unruly Mob or Village Cannibals.
