Honestly, this isn't very healthy for the game. This is essentially a "super" card, complicating the game by creating a second graveyard. It's almost like mindbreak trap being a super counter. Cards in exile should stay in exile unless the card that exiled them asks for them back.
Mindbreak Trap 2UU
Instant
If an opponent cast three or more spells this turn, you may pay {0} rather than pay Mindbreak Trap's mana cost.
Counter any number of target spells, but put it in a second graveyard instead of the first.
Misthollow Griffin 2UU
Creature
You may cast ~ from your second graveyard.
No, no, no, no, no. In a few years, they're going to have so many things that interact with exile that they'll have to create a third super exile zone that holds cards that have very few interactions with the game.
And then with the m20 rules update they'll change exile to "removed from the game" and not allow any interaction with it. Also, damage will use the stack. Players will cry its the death of magic. Life will go on.
In all seriousness, I don't like this either. It does exactly what you're saying. Creating unnecessary use of a zone when we already have one. Was there a reason for usin exile here vs. "cast from the graveyard"? Flavor, maybe, but they could have just made it a zombie griffin in that case. Or a flying skaab. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of where this is heading. Feels like someone in r&d just got frustrated with white removal.
Because conservative bias is a far, far worse thing. Liberal bias doesn't, statistically speaking, make people stupid. Conservative bias (or at least Fox's version of it) does.

I actually complained about those too, but people kind of shrugged me off. If you look at the time of printings, you'll see that these cards are becoming more and more frequent. Runic repetition was printed very recently.

It's only a matter of time.
Two cards in Time Spiral block (which were printed specifically as Suspend hosers), one weird card in M10, and two cards in Innistrad block is "more and more frequent"?
I don't think any of these cards have made a major splash in any format.

The frequency of competitive usage (or lack thereof) never justifies the printing of any card. The card itself is nothing to complain about. Rather, it's the direction that R&D is taking that is troubling.
Indeed, properly managed exile is a cool zone that can have some sorts of interactions. This is a very interesting use of exile and at Mythic and as the only card with this ability, it seems pretty decent.
I don't understand the people who claim this card isn't Mythic worthy or it's too small. This card is pure awesomeness, it does something new and unique without being another overpowered fatty. I would've liked it more that it were a 2/2 flying for 1UU, but the card is already awesome as is.
This guys is really really weak. You all know that right?
Btw, he's a griffins are white fliers. Blues are spirits, elementals, sphinxes, etc. Why griffin?!?!
Recastable 3/3 + a 1/1 are weak now? I mean, I'm not saying he's great, but this is a extremely unique ability which will be very difficult to evaluate having never played with the card and having knowing about it for 12 hours.
How is the first card in Magic history that you can cast from exile not worthy of being mythic?
There are some neato tricks you can pull off with this thing, I'm a fan
casting from exile doesn't feel mythic at all. even a 10 year old can come up with that idea. mythic unique abilities should be "How did they come up with that?" not "this is the first. even though it's not that unusual and thousands of amateur designers probably came up with the same idea."
There are a lot of interactions with exile spoiled so far in this set, so I would not be surprised to see something new that makes this thing pretty boss. Imprint interactions might be interesting (or at least confusing).. remains to be seen.
Not saying I think the card sucks but can anyone tell me why this card is good. I can only really think of certain situations but not game changers or anything like that.
A lot of people here seem to think that a mythic rare should be a card that can win you the game, single-handedly. This card is not one of those, and will obviously require lots of deck planning.

Interacting with exile goes a long way back. There's the Judgment Wishes, which originally interacted with it, and Ring of Ma'ruf, whose oracle text doesn't let it interact with exile but whose card text specifically allows it to.
Riftsweeper was a pretty sick hoser in Block constructed.
The Wishes obviously have had a huge impact on virtually every format.

A 40 dollar mythic rare would constitute a must have 4 of that goes in many decks.
Stats About Mythics
-Mythics are on average 40% rarer than pre-mythic rares
(old blocks about 200 rares, Mythic blocks 35+ mythics)
-They are printing more new cards a year not less
(about 665 now vs. 630 in most pre-mythic block)
-To drop the value of a rare by $1 a mythic must go up $2
-In a 3 year time span deck prices doubled. I am petitioning for the removal of mythic rarity. Sig this to join the cause.
why this was a griffin and not, say, a blue spirit (comes back from exile spirit seems much more flavorful) or some kind of blue skaab (contrasting the others..mabey a 'good' skaab?) seems dumb.
but then again, allot of creature types seem dumb in this set. the swan headed things, the elementals (seriously why not a devil?) etcetc....for top-down it sure seems all over the place.

I think there is considerable white-shift in this set across the board (with the exception of black).

It doesn't make sense for it to be a griffin since they're always white-aligned (excepting Balshan Griffin and Azorious First-Wing). I'm glad they're branching out and not sticking solely to the Innistrad creature types, but it definitely should've been a sphinx or another blue-type creature.

This guy's a real head-scratcher at mythic rarity. It's neat that he works around exile effects, but he's a 3/3 flier for 4 that does nothing. It's completely baffling from a fan perspective that Wizards would use a mythic slot on this.
There's clearly something I'm not seeing here, so I wonder what sort of mechanics are in store for us in M13 & Return to Rav.

I thought this fits the theme of the block and its Mythic status better. Thoughts?
Infinite blue mana gives you infinite casts of this card. Infinite casts of this card, with Food Chain out, gives you infinite of any color.
Infinite mana combo is cute and all but how are you planning on winning the game? You'll need a third card to combo out and that becomes quite messy...

Once you have enough blue mana you can start RFGing him for mana of other colors and use your infinite blue mana to recast him.
