I don't think that neither is true.
It's a terrible plane for story-telling though, it's way too ordered. You want something more malleable like Zendikar, but then again, I have a major stiffy for it.
Please don't talk about Zendikar... I think most of us would like to imagine that it never happened and get on with blocks that require levels of maturity and thinking. I hope the new cores don't take place in Alara. I like the new legend but I hope I never see him in standard play, like others have said, there would be a large issue with the card pool if I see 6cmc's getting played that can win on their own.

What do you mean? If this isn't about SfM and JtMS, I don't know what you are talking about.
I'm extremely glad they ditched titans for guys like this, no sarcasm at all. he's not the stone cold nuts, but he's got some flavor to him at least.
and you know this to be true how?
especially when 1 is an intro pack rare... and the others are mythics. even if its been stated the titans won't return, how can you be sure they won't be replaced with something better than this or equally as good as the current cycle of titans?
what is it with this place and jumping to conclusions. if we had a mat for it, we'd be winning.
Do you know what would be cool? Looking at the booster pack, with the liliana on it, assuming that this new packaging isn't replacing the foil wrapper, but instead is replacing the cardboard blister, it would be cool if instead of showing Liliana on it, the packaging is see through, so it shows the actual booster inside.
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
What the hell? Black creatures shouldn't have exalted. They're evil and exalted is only for good creatures.
Then you aren't thinking about it clearly enough.
White exalt is about the crowd cheering on a single champion.
Black exalt is about the group throwing one guy to the wolves and hoping he takes some people with him.
What the hell? Black creatures shouldn't have exalted. They're evil and exalted is only for good creatures.
Though I do agree in the analysis that black is the "evil" color, Exalted kind of makes sense for black flavor-wise since both white and black fall into the "organized faith" mode of operation. While white exaltation could be interpreted as a communal effort to empower a champion, black's take would be more in the lines of one individual reaping the rewards of the fanatical devotion of misled masses (or the majority throwing some poor fool to the wolves like Barinellos suggested).

>Black is evil
Oh my this is rich. No, black isn't evil. For some reason WotC really like making 'black' antagonists, but it is far from being an 'evil' color. Each color has its own shade of evil; from Whites overzealous "BURN ALL HERETICS" attitude which was actually showcased quite well in INN, to Greens "If it's not natural, it must be purged." outlook.
Each color can be evil, and no single one of them is a moustache twirling dolt hellbent on being 'evil' just to be 'evil'; it's just that more often than not WotC is pretty lazy when it comes to this sort of thing.

Brian Tinsman, Set Designer :?mana::snow::snow:
Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"

Well, they've been getting better. New Phyrexia is clearly designed to show the evils of each color (except red, which is naturally rebellious.) Not to say Red can't be evil...

I think the color that we need to see more evil from is Green. Currently, the only real pure green antagonist we've had is Vorinclex, who's not really the central villain. The Lorwyn Elves were Black, Mormir Vig's evil traits were stereotypically Blue, etc.
I'm actually writing a story with a Green-style villain right now; there are a few routes you can go down, all of which are very limited. One is a mindless monster like the monstrous parasite from Alien. Another is the eco-terrorist, although that gets a bit silly and stereotypical. Another is a villain who just tries to stop the heroes from fighting fate; in this case, he works as a secondary villain to a primary natural disaster that the heroes face.

I think it's because villains tend to be selfish. Greed, envy, and ambition are all traits of the classic villain.
Yeah, you can have a villain of any color, but the ones that audiences are most familiar with are mostly Black. Looking at the Film Academy's top 100 villains list...
1. Hannibal Lector (Black and Blue)
2. Norman Bates (Red and Black)
3. Darth Vader (Black, with a bit of White and Red.)
4. The Wicked Witch of the West (Black, with some Red)
5. Nurse Ratched (White)
You have to get to number 5 to reach a villain who is not predominantly Black.

The goal of the antagonist is to grow this plant and sell it to the ignorant populace. The plant is to be wrapped in some magical paper and smoked. What that plant does is that makes the populace "relax, man/dude" and be one with nature. The populace under that spell now wear gold chains and tie dye T-shirts with the peace symbol on it.
Hey, it's happening in real life with all that drug war.
It seems that Blue and Black seems to be the antagonist the most, which is surprising since it is Green's enemies.

Nah, White and Black are the most common antagonist colors. Blue comes in third to be certain, but white has a looooong history of being complete jerks.

Agreed, they even had a black protaganist(aka a good guy) in Kamigawa block.
White exalted is all like "I shall sacrifice myself for the good of my people and for honor and glory"
Black exalted is like "You idiots! I told you to kill him! Seems like I have to do everything myself if I want it done right."
I said this in the other thread on Black having Exalted: "Based on the fact that after Alara's reunification there was a lot of "bleeding" from the Shards that led to a uniquely characterized flavor, I'm not surprised to see non-Bant colored cards receiving Exalted. From a slightly different standpoint, he could have Exalted because he is the Overlord of Grixis, and is thus worshipped (And/or feared)." (You can see it originally posted here)
On topic, you guys made me laugh. I originally scratched my head when I saw him too though. I had to take a second and actually think about him.
appearently they're getting rid of the "core set doesn't take place on any specific plane" rule, which allows a few key reprints in core sets that havn't been possible before.

No, you're really looking more into this than what the information actually provides.
They've made specific references before to planes that we've never been to before. Such as Xathrid Demon and the little hints we got about him. As well as the occasional reference to Valla and Ulgrotha. And all this while making references to other planes as well.
So, they have a legend from Alara. Know what that means? We have a legend from Alara. Nothing more!

White - Burn the infidels! Purge the land! Purge the sinners! Ah, screw it, PURGE EVERYTHING!
Blue - Mind Control/Let's defy the laws of (nature/physics/science)
Black - Blood, killing, take your pick.
Red - I won't just zap you, I'll burn down your house too! Hell, I'll DESTROY EVERYTHING YOU EVER HELD DEAR.
Green - Imagine hippies, except they're all the Hulk.
