Bane's Reading Suggestions David Eddings: The Belgariad, Mallorean, Elenium and Tamuli Series. The Redemption of Althalus Jim Butcher: The Codex Alera Series
Hey look, Boseiju! Hey look, Vesuva! Hey look, Maze of Ith! Has everyone preordered now? Awesome, let's reveal the other half of the cards. They're all ****.
Seems about their line of thinking! I'm a whore for products like this, but paying $20 for Urbog and couple bucks for a dice seems like the best option unless I find one for MSRP.
Maze of Ith judge foil sells for well over a hundred dollars already and you want another eighty to a hundred dollar card in Wastland. I guess people want to spend over a hundred dollars on a product whose MSRP is $34.99.
Dryad Arbor was from a cycle as well (Future shifted lands) and Urborg was from a cycle as well (An actual mega cycle, whereas the gorge was a regular cycle)
Confused Gorge with Keldon Necropolis. My fault.
There was no future shifted cycle for uncommon lands (There was for dual lands at rare. Every color got one uncommon normal frame land, Zoetic Cavern was the only other Futureshifted uncommon land.
Urborg was a call back to the land cycle from Legends. No mega cycle.
White - Windbrisk Heights (From a cycle)
Blue - Cephalid Coliseum (From a cycle)
Black - Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
Red - Shivan Gorge (From a mega cycle)
Green - Dryad Arbor
All of these have been tournament cards (Shivan Gorge maybe a little less so). How is this out of place?
Now that everyone has pointed it out.. It's not.
I'll change my "complaint" to having any cards from cycles. These vaults sets seem like they should be "iconic" unique cards. I'm pretty much just nitpicking though. There is a good story behind each card so that validates all of them, even if they aren't the pinnacle of exciting as far as lands go.
When ppl refer to magic cards as "doing work" or "putting in work" it makes me vomit in my mouth a little, and it's trendy to make it even more nauseating.
Sorry, anyway about the cards. The set is fine, so there's a few unplayable cards and no wasteland...cry. My only complaint is that I can't get those sweet dryad arbor, grove of the burnwillows and glacial chasm in non foil with the new art.
Windbrisk is just so out of place. And lackluster compared to what is already in the set and what could have been in the set. And part of a cycle where only one piece is represented.
I would have preferred it be something not from a cycle.
Shivan Gorge is also a cycle, just a not so obvisious one.
They are both the "fail" cards that better would not be in the bunch of cards.
Definitely better than Legends, and comparable to Relics, but falls a little short compared to Dragons. Happy to see foil Urborg and Maze of Ith those two make the product, the fill-ins are not bad by any stretch and that is what truly stands out about this product. Would I have liked a foil Wasteland? Yes. In this product? No. Because the price would have been jacked too over $200 except for a select few stores who are nice to their customers. For those wanting a foil Wastelands, there is always the Arsenal Commander set which might have it.
$10 Ancient Tomb
$5 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
$5 Cephalid Coliseum
$.5 Desert
$3 Dryad Arbor
$6 Forbidden Orchard
$.75 Glacial Chasm
$13 Grove of the Burn Willows
$7 High Market
$50 Maze of Ith
$3.5 Murmuring Bosk
$1.5 Shivan Gorge
$20 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
$10 Vesuva
$5 Windbrisk Heights
$140 worth of lands. Stop *****ing about Wasteland.
Words of wisdom from Iscariot. I couldn't agree more: These are perfectly fine choices for the lands. Especially considering these are all non-foil prices.

I'm a bit let down with Desert and Shivan Gorge, but overall the set is quite good.
I have to laugh about the eBay sales earlier today. Sellers started jacking the price to $140 a pop after Ith was announced, and they were selling out left and right.

don't know where you are getting these values but most of them seem to be 1.5-2x normal values of cards. most ftv cards values go similar to their normal paperback counterpart.
I remember killing pump knights With desert back in the day! And high market!! No wasteland, meh...its cool. Beats the crap out of legends and is on par With exiled and relics imo...
Im psyched to get my pre order...

i alwlays felt urborg was also part of a timespiral cycle with flagstones of trokair, pendlehaven, kehr keep, and academy ruins as legendary lands for each color.
I wonder if there's an unspoken rule that no single card can exceed the value of the MSRP of the set. What is the most valuable FTV card printed, to date?

Yeah tomb should be highly sought after. Maze should be as well. I would be surprised if the singles go for less than 150 soon after release.
I dig the new maze art, but would have preferred the intestine one, all shiny.

Still, High Market? Maze of Ith? Hell yeah! Just really wish Phyrexian Tower had seen print.
