In regards to land destruction, I think bringing back Tectonic Edge would be a safe idea. Heck, I wonder if bringing back Molten Rain would be a problem. Land destruction barely sees much play in standard as it is, so I can't see a 3 CMC card like this doing anything huge at this time.
Speaking of lands... what if they brought back Fetchlands in M14? O.o

You don't see land destruction in many decks because they don't have land killers @ 3 mana. Also just 1 rotation ago we saw bant land deny with blinking acidic slim or pod'n into him.
Edit: Fetchlands would be nuts and prob won't happen in the same rotation as all the shocks. Mana bases are already stupid easy adding fetch lands would mean were playing modern
They are both horribly unfun to play against, but I agree that there needs to be some sort of nonbasic hate. Although I doubt greedy mana bases will be as potent if we lose the check-lands in M14.
Do we know that we are losing the Innistrad lands taplands for sure, though? I tend to think that they printed them so that they could be reprinted in conjunction with the M10 ones, similar to the Apocalypse pain lands be reprinted with the original Ice Age ones in 9th and 10th edition.
Though, I agree we still need some nonbasic land hate. Maybe they'll reprint stuff like Smallpox.

Reprinting Fetchs would be nice :
- The loss of the Innistrad duals won't be as painfull
- The reprint is needed for Modern to be an affordable eternal format
I bet that they will reprint the fetch lands in Modern Masters, also not to be rude, but why are people so bound and determined that Wizards will reprint the fetch lands in a standard legal set while RtR is still in Standard. Personally, I think everyone constantly having a constantly perfect land base would leads to some rather boring decks, I mean many people would just start running 5-color decks with such easy access to all colours within the that awkward transition period between blocks.

Its already happening with shocks and duel lands worrying about getting the right mana doesnt matter anymore.

I realise that, and it actually bugs me that we don't have to worry about what our mana base is. Seriously, it's incredibly frustrating seeing people with nigh perfect mana-bases for any colour combination, although I would be lying if I said it wasn't fun.

Wouldn't it be amazing if, for the 20th Anniversary, just for the core set, they went back to the old borders?
I wouldn't buy any of it. Never.
I got rid of all my old cards because the old border does not look as good as the new one and I'm patiently waiting for old cards to be reprinted with the new frame

If there is such a thing as too much power, I have not discovered it!
Yeah I hated the new border at first, but there's no denying that the new border looks smarter and cleaner and shows off the art much better.
I agree, and I was playing well before the new border. Nostalgia seems to be the main factor in people pining for the old border. More space for art and no weird title font is a bonus IMO.
Reprinting Judge Foils of existing new border cards with old borders is a great touch though.
I'm actually kinda curious why people want to hose non basics so much. Yes, Standard right now is the richest mana base we have seen in a long time, yes playing 3 colors is nearly as easy as mono colored decks, with 4 and 5 color decks being a reality...so why is this a problem? Do you dislike it when the person across the table is playing multiple colors successfully? Why punish people completely for enjoying a gold set by playing multiple colors? I can see maybe single non basic land destruction being a thing, something like Tectonic Edge, but I will be very disappointed if Wizards prints something like Blood Moon. This is not a fun card to play against, I can not see them reprinting this for the same reason they won't print mass land destruction...It is a step in the wrong direction.
All they need to do is be smart about what the lands they print in M14 will be. Once M13 and Innistrad rotate, we lose all the check lands. Standard isn't going to be so mana rich when it is just shocks and gates.

The current border is cleaner, but lacks style, which the old border had. I'm still hoping for an amalgamation of the two for the anniversary.
I'd love to see them use the colorshifted borders they used in Planar Chaos even though I know they won't because they hold a sort of symbolic meaning in the game.
Old borders look much better on the card and on the monitor. New borders are too washed out, thus harder to distinguish the colors on screen. For me playing MTGO is an eyesore. Everything is so bright and uniform. Fortunately on MWS I can retain the old theme where it's easier to differentiate the colors.
I wouldn't buy any of it. Never.

And I would likely buy significantly more. The old frame looks so much better to me.
There are a number of very easy reasons to use to argue for why they won't do anything with changing borders.
(The only exception I could think of is if they only changed some borders in a limited fashion as they did with Timeshifted). Otherwise I simply don't see it.
Am I the only person who doesn't have a really strong opinion about which style of border is better?
Nope. I like the old cards just fine, but they look outdated now and the only appeal for me is nostalgia, to which I'm no slave like some people*. The new borders are cleaner and look nicer to the uninitiated.
*my brother still *****es and moans about the modern borders when I get him to play
Am I the only person who doesn't have a really strong opinion about which style of border is better?
I mean, the futureshifted borders look pretty nifty, I guess...
I don't care about the borders but I do like to keep my decks uniform: it bothers me when 90% of my deck is new border an there are a couple of cards with the old style.
I don't mind the change either way. I'm a fan of the new borders, appreciate the classics and find a certain amount of deliciousness in the mismatch just like I enjoy how worn the revised lightbolts I finally tracked down in my basement are (ie, worn enough that they have to be sleeved).
That being said... I love the way that black borders look, but... to me the white border should still be around whenever they decide to flood the market just like new art should be used. Not because I'm some sort of elitist but because the bling/elitist factor helps to keep the collectibility of the originals intact which in turn makes it a lot easier to beg for flooding the market levels of reprints, which, when that turns out to be OK, makes it easier to not entirely slip into hyperbole and/or fanaticism when the urge to vent polemic on the subject of the RL rears it's ugly head (i.e. Tuesdays)
I'd like to see something like Time Spiral, but instead of just re-printing old cards, they printed the entire set of M14 in old borders.
Like, there would be the new frames for the whole set with 13 new frame cards per pack, plus the basic land. But each pack would also contain one M14 card with the old border. You could have your choice that way.
I doubt we'd see both frames, there'd be way too much price gouging on the old frame cards, good lord imagine a foil old frame walker if they were put in packs like Timeshifted cards.
Price of Progress would make me exceptionally happy, Blood Moon much less so. I would like to a see a Modern where this level of punishment can happen.

I'd say a large majority of people in that situation would just buy the regular frame, non-foil Walker to save money. If someone wants to pimp their deck, they'll have to pay extra like with any other card.

This. The old borders had much more flavour. The new borders are like the diet soda of card frames - lots of advantages, less flavour.
