Borderposts have an alternate casting cost...you may pay 1 and...(reveal a card of the same color in your hand instead of paying _____ Borderpost's mana cost?)
Lich Lord of Unx has UB, T: Put a 1/1 (or 3/3?) blue and black Zombie Wizard into play. (The 1/1s might have something special, maybe they are a copy of the card?)
Deathbringer Thoctar: Can anyone read the words on this card? I thought I saw artifact creature in the text box...probably not. My logic says it wouldn't hate an artifact creature directly? Like a destroy target artifact creature CITP ability seems a bit off. Not saying it is an artifact creature, please read.
Actually it looks like the borderposts have an alternate casting cost. It clearly says "you may pay 1(?) and..." on it so i'm guessing its a mana generator that lets you pay 1 and probably an amount of life instead of its mana cost.
I really hope its something like that at least...(pseudo lands anyone?)
Thoctar is not an artifact creature... There is pretty much no way to make out anything on him other than the fact that he's part black.
I love me some "Instead of paying it's mana cost", but it could also be "You may pay 1 and.." to make it come into play untapped, etc. If it provides more than 1 mana, which we think it does, the colorless mana is just being filtered in the process, and if it's discarding a land/red and/or green card, than it's ramp. Regardless, it could have lots of promise.
Lich Lord sounds terrible, but we'll see if the ability is worth it. As of now, I doubt it though. Tap effects are terrible.
I know it's not an artifact creature, I was talking about the text box maybe it was hating on artifact creatures. But it seems unlikely and I think it's just my brain trying to make any sense of the blurred words.
Borderposts are allied pairs, that's just the artifact frame.
Orb of insight:
reveal: 7
discard: 18
remove: 36
if that helps anyone guess what's on the borderposts.
Clearly the Firewild Borderpost is the red and green artifact he refers to. It seems that Reborn brings us back to traditional two-color gold cards only, since the unification of the world has done away with the notion of "Shards".
The names of the borderposts (Mistvein, Fieldmist, Wildfield, Firewild, Veinfire) are the world's most obvious cycle of color pairings. The art makes it a no-brainer that these artifacts will produce mana, since they visually sit at the edge of two different land types.
also the artifact is something like you may pay 1 and im gonna guess sacrifice a land you control as it looks like it says you may pay 1 and....a land you....
Sure, stuff like Snapping Drake and Goblin Piker are for limited. But Null isn't even playable against a 5 year old whose hand consists of a 6 of Clubs, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Chimney Imp, and a very large cumquat.

While there is definitely much more emphasis on 2-color pairs, we already know of several hybrid and tri-color costs.
What isn't in this set- wedges. Enemy colors yes, but wedge tri or hybrid... nope. So the shards are still relevant.
My bet on Firewild Borderpost is:
You may pay (1) and return an untapped land you control to owner's hand instead of paying Firewild Borderpost's mana cost.
I also think that the Thoctar is a vanilla creature as the text for it looks like flavor text rather than rules text.
I seriously doubt that its vanilla as the thoctar is the foil promo for the b/r intro pack. Unless it's a 10/10 for 1BR, it wouldn't be intro pack foil worthy.

I would imagine it's a new keyword, making the text we can see reminder text, because it really does look a lot like flavor text. But we already know it costs 4BR, so I don't think we're getting a vanilla rare at 6cmc regardless of how high its power and toughness are.

Borderposts seems to be red, green and blue, considering the inner frame's blue color.
You seem to be forgetting that colored artifacts still have the outer artifact frame instead of the gold one.Plus if it was tri color we wouldn't see the red & green pinelines.Me thinks someone has been for shard & conflux ;).
Its sounds lame for deathbringer but i think it just has unearth. The size and the angle of the pic make it crazy hard to tell.

My bet on Firewild Borderpost is:
You may pay (1) and return an untapped land you control to owner's hand instead of paying Firewild Borderpost's mana cost.
(Mana Ability that generates Red and Green mana)
Upon closer inspection, I think this is close or dead on. I seem to be able to make out the words "You may pay 1 and..." "land you..."
As for the Throctar... I thought it would have the new "cascade" ability too, especially since that ability has only been shown in RB so far, but the text doesn't seem to match. I can't figure out what it is...
Deathbringer Thoctar is CLEARLY a Zombie Beast. i can read that much from it..
DeathBringer Thoctar 4RB
Creature - Zombie Beast
Thats as far as i can read.... since the card is covered up.
Lich Lord of Unx 1UB
Creature - Zombie Wizard
UB,T: put a 1/1 ??????? Zombie Wizard
as far as i can get...
And Firewild Borderpost RG (something) like it, I'd assume it's 1RG
Artifact
You may pay 1 and ????? hand
And end.

"You may pay 1 and reveal a red and green card from your hand rather than paying this card's mana cost"?
Or maybe you discard a card that shares the appropriate colors with the respective borderpost?

I feel like the best guess is
You may pay 1 and reveal a card of the same color in your hand instead of paying _____ Borderpost's mana cost.
What are the two words on deathbringer thoctar? I can't make them out.

Seems plausible?
maybe some kind of re-useable land fetch?
so many its like an exploding borders artifact
"Creature - Zombie Beast" from the card. No "artifact" to be found as suggested above.

How awesome would a giant beater with Cascade be? I'm sorta hoping that's what it is, now.
