I'd personally go with "MAY-el" since the vowels are kind of sliding into each other.
But then again, English is a mongrel language with plenty of inconsistencies and special rules. However, the Japanese Romanization of anything is always pronounced the same way 100% of the time.

I've heard My-el, My-eel, Maya-el...I just don't know...
For example the Japanese name is アニマのメイエル (Meieru)
So it sounds like May-El?

While I wouldn't say it's a full "a" in Michael you don't just drop it if you did it would be pronounced mike-el but it's in fact mike-ul
