Currently Getting Back into the swing of MTGS. Bear with me folks~
will judgerize later today. the A Scanner Darkly movie was great, best movie based on a PK Dick story, and the most true to the source material. i dislike the rotoscope animation technique, but it was well used in that film
Solipsism1UU
Enchantment (R)
Cumulative upkeep - Exile a permanent you control.
Players can't search libraries.
Whenever a permanent enters the battlefield under an opponent's control, exile it unless that player reveals a card with the same name from his or her hand.
"Here only miracles. Here, only the rising of spirit. And yes, love if it was pertinent (which it was so often); and sometimes bloodletting. But never the prosaic, never the trivial. Here the man who brought the strangest tale was the most welcome. Here every excess was celebrated if it brought visions, and every vision analyzed for the hints it held to the nature of the Everlasting." - Clive Barker's Imajica

Folks like Descartes who think they can be sure of their own minds when sure of nothing else make me chuckle.
I'm unsure of the flavor here, I'll admit. Otherwise, the card functions smartly but would be frustrating to play against and not much more fun to play.
Prophesied Murder2BB
Enchantment (R) U: Put a prophecy counter on target creature.
At the beginning of each players upkeep, destroy all creatures with 3 or more prophecy counters that player controls. "Sometimes, in order to see the light, you have to risk the dark"
Hmm. Predicting the future by making it happen... I'm doing that right now as I type these words.
It's hard to represent nonlinear-time ideas in a game that's meant (as I as I'm aware and assume) to be played within conventional one-direction time. Besides physically reversing previous actions (avoided for requiring excessive memorization) you can also restrict what can happen in the future (my preferred method). The third option is to make particular events occur through force. I don't care for the third option, it's not that different from normal linear-time behavior.
Otherwise, this is a solid multicolor card, costed fine.
Adjustment3UW
Sorcery
Change Target creature's creature type to a creature type of your choice. The same goes for color. Switch its power and toughness. "Sometimes, the natural order must be supplemented- Adjusted here and there." - The Old Man
Huh. Five mana is a lot to change the attributes of a single creature in a way that mostly matters little most of the time. All that could have been done for a cost of U, probably, 1U at the most. And though there may be a flavor reason for the W, I wished there could've been a mechanical reason thrown in to explain it.
Ponderous Wub3UG
Creature — Boar Beast {R} U, Sacrifice Ponderous Wub: Put two +1/+1 counters on target creature. You gain control of that creature. "As I was saying before I was interrupted..."
2/2
I vaguely remember the conversation quoted in the flavor text.
Seems like an uncommon, not a rare. I'm only noting that because I like the feel of this card for limited. It's the kind of card that just exists sometimes and is cool for being.
The kind of card that's designed by having nothing special in mind before being created.
Ubik 3
Legendary Artifact R t: put a permananecy counter on another target permanent. Permanants with permanency counters on them are Indestructable. Planeswalkers with permananecy counters do not leave the battlefield when at 0 loyalty. So try Ubik, and be loved. Warning: use only as directed. And with caution.
Ubiquitous Ubik.
This is a lot like that which was taken. Amusing, since Ubik is also that which was taken in another sense.
Substance D2U
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant Creature
Enchanted creature can't attack or block. R, Tap enchanted creature: enchanted creature fights target creature. "You are constitutionally incapable of not shuttingthe****up!"
This is weird, since you can enchant a creature an opponent controls and tap it as a cost.
I vaguely remember the conversation the quote in the flavor text is from. Actually, the name Substance D now reminds me of that Kat Williams joke about about strong weed, "This s**t right here n***a? This s**t's called Death!" : D
The Thom Yorke song at the end of the movie is great.
Electric Sheep1R
Enchantment (U) 1R: Tap target creature. Electric Sheep deals 1 damage to that creature. Activate this ability only once per turn. "Bah."
Does nothing for me flavorwise. And then red tapping creature seems weird, but that doesn't do much except prevent blocking most of the time, so seems possible. The extra 1 damage ping seems an unneeded complication, and I'd rather it was dealt to the creatures controller.
...
Final judgeriment:
I was hoping for more interesting mindf'ing designs for this challenge. If any of these conveyed flavor strongly and accurately enough I'd've probably given its designer the win. None of these quite thrill me mechanically either.
Jace_The_Mind_Sculptor wins for having a flavorfully truthful design that with a few adjustments could be a decent card.

Flying, Haste

So, if you're of the belief that nothing outside of your own mind (cards in hand) exist, then you're 1) going to need proof that they do (the opponent's having to show you a card from their mind (hand) when they try to put something into reality (battlefield), and 2) going to be suffering from an ever-increasing paranoia about the things you surround yourself with (the cumulative upkeep, as those things are no longer in your own mind... they might have been when you cast them, but now you're just not sure anymore). Perfect PKD flavor, IMHO. Especially if you've read "Eye in the Sky".
Oh well. I'm likely sitting this one out, but just in case, feel free to consider this a placeholder.
Edit: Looks like it was indeed.
