I myself am not quite sure on this cards value. Where is it going to go? Is it worth getting? Is it just like lotus cobra syndrome? I just don't know what to do with this card. As far as I can see, it's not seeing much competitive T2 play.
It's a mythic Stenchskipper, which saw no T2 play either. I think it will fall to 6-8 bucks or so.
that is a very bad comparison....stench is stictly for goblins...which saw no play and it abbysal has trample and is a 6/6....also it is mythic...i woulld say a 15-20 depending on how it does in big tourneys
Both are 6 powered, flying black creatures for 4 mana, and both have drawbacks. Seems like a fine comparison to me.
Also, during Lor block, cards like Boggart Shenanigans virtually erased Skipper's drawback and it still saw no play.
At least Skipper could chump BSA, which is more than can be said for Abyssal.
Well the point could be made that Goblins saw no play, therefore Skipper didn't see much play at all. Abyssal could be fit into Mono-Black Vampires, they have a few outlets which could get rid of him: Gatekeeper of Malakir, Tendrils of Corruption etc. It's too bad Smother couldn't get rid of him.
Look, this has happened too many times in the past. Wizards tries to make a Juzam clone, everyone gets excited, then realize that it's really not good. Big black creature for 4 wasn't good several years back, it certainly still isn't good today.

Not the best comparison
Persecutor is good for reasons that you control its own destiny. Dies to any removal spell, bounce spell, sacrifice ability.
Turn 3 6/6 flyer in G/U/B with heirarchs and cobras, and bounce spells/ bone splinters, etc
I wouldn't call him a Juzam clone. I don't recall Juzam having flying... or trample.
Proxy a few up and play with it. While it may dip in the mid teens - this guy is a powerhouse. I've not played a match where he sticks and lost the game. There are simply far too many sac outlets in Standard right now for the drawback to matter at all.

So, basically, if you get a god hand and have heirarch + cobra + him + bounce spell, he'll be good? You do realize that if you have heirarch and cobra, you can just play 2 colors and cast baneslayer, right?

It's silly to argue this. Ya, Plague Sliver isn't a Juzam clone either, since Juzam isn't a sliver. /sarcasm.

This. Grinning Demon, Yukora, the Prisoner and Plague Sliver are all comparable to Juzam, yet all saw little to no play because an undercosted 5+ power black beater isn't as scary as it was during the Arabian Nights era. Especially when you have undercosted green fatties that cost roughly the same (Blastoderm, Mycoid Shepherd, Rumbling Slum) and don't have drawbacks that are as steep.
Plus, in a standard with BSA, Abyssal Persecutor can't even block the most dangerous flier in the format. Until a MBC deck becomes viable in T2 (more like if), we'll only see his price fall.

Well the deck that'll run Persecutor, will run Deathmark, Hideous End, Tendrils of Corruption among others. So there are still plenty of answers to the most dangerous flier in the format.
BSA isn't even played very much - ONE DECK - so whether it can or cannot block BSA is irrelevant. The problem is there really isn't a deck for it. The only black deck right now is Vampires (I guess Jund but Jund is too aggro, they don't want to drop it and then wait to draw a Pulse, wasting all their CA gained fro Cascade), and it's viable to play it there but I don't think it's the best option.
While there is a long history of undercosted black creatures, none of them live up to Juzam because of creature power creep. Back in its day Juzam could easily have cost 4BB or even 5BB and still had its drawback. Nowadays we expect Abyssal Persecutor to cost 2BB...if it cost, say, 1BB then we would react the same way we did to Juzam back in the day.
BSA is actually played in quite a few decks. Don't forget Jund also has Terminate, and a W/B deck is in the works as well. Using BSA and Persecutor. But yeah, I don't expect it to be more than $4.
