So i have been to many forums. So far, this has been one of the worst forums I have ever visited. Necroing? Are you serious? In a forum where you post something and it goes to the top of the list I can see. But when the topic stays on the same page as it was I see no point in issuing warnings for "necroing" There is no harm in posting something one month after the last post. Like I said, in some forums have a list of topics that were recently posted or posted in. When you reply, that topic gets put on the top of the list. Not here. The topic stays exactly where it is. So why warn someone for posting on a topic that hasn't been closed? Now I understand that the moderators are way too busy to close down all old posts. There are probably way too many to do that. But seriously, I think it is just the need to throw around athority.
I am leaving the forums because I don't feel the need to booted just because I "Necroed" If anyone knows how to cancel my account, I would appreciate the help. Thank you.
If a thread dies, there's a reason for it. Either it's played out or people just got bored with it. Don't revive dead threads unless they are tagged [o]fficial.
Also, you're overreacting. You didn't even get an infraction. You are no closer to a ban than you were before.

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):

He wasn't butthurt about getting in trouble. He just thinks its a stupid practice(and in some situations it totally is).

It might be. Sometimes a thread is replaced with a newer thread. Other times the topic simply isn't relevant anymore. But this is a rule that needs to be followed just like any other.

I think I've been too opinionated lately, so I'm not going to offer an opinion on necroing.
That said, most forums I have been to have had similar necroing rules. I fail to see how ours could be the "worst" when it is such standard fare. Good or bad, it certainly isn't a rule MTGS came up with.

I'll be sad if people don't start calling The Chain Veil "Fleetwood Mac."

Just because a rule needs to be followed doesn't mean we can't start discussion about the validity of the rule.

Discussing a rule is fine, however actively working to subvert an existing rule is not.
Thousands of people visit this site daily and the rules seem to have worked so far. That's not to say changes can't be made, however there is something to be said for consistency.
Thing is, if you know the rule, but want to necro a thread anyway, PM the mod of the sub. I'd bet most of the time, a reasonable request will be met with a reasonable answer.

And no you can't delete your account.

i agree, but under the confines that we continue to follow the rule until a new rule is made or not.
