MonoBlack Aggro Midrange
Main Board (60)
Quick Info
I used to love Mono-Black decks back in the old days, back before they were even good. I played Magic back when Juzam Djinn was a good card, even, and highly sought after... But the allure of multicolored decks was strong, and so when I returned to Magic, I played with the new fancy manabases and made nice multicolored decks that were fun to play with... And then I noticed something...
I had a lot of great/good black MTG cards available. I didn't have the Obliterators at first, so the deck cost like $42, all comprised of good cards that hadn't made the final cut in other decks. And my little $42 deck kicked butt at its first FNM, and I realized I might just have something.
This deck aims to win a Creature-based war... Put lots of efficient permanents on the field, gain life from lifelinkers, draw cards, apply pressure, build up the battlefield, gum up the works with a threatening Phyrexian Obliterator, then drop Grey Merchant for huge life swing, and often... game win.
This deck is ridiculous cheap, ridiculous reliable, and ridiculous fun.
