My friends have started playing Pauper "side games" at FNM as a quick, low-energy way to pass the rounds among friends. I love the idea and love getting to play with some old powerhouse cards in a sort of "Legacy Lite" environment. I've also really been itching to play some Chain Lightnings, but don't have the Legacy card set well covered in my card collection. With Chain being "common" in its Legends printing, then reprinted at Uncommon, I have a set and have been wanting to play them.
The deck employs 12 creatures, and I've always wanted to play with Thermo-Alchemist and this deck seems like a natural fit; he often nets me 4 or so damage, so that's definitely not bad for a 2-drop with a decent body for blocking. Kiln Fiend is well-known of course. With 12 Bolts, 12 Creatures, 8 Cantrips, 8 Counters, it seems like a good mix to start with.
