Quick Info
A B/W control deck that is designed to attack resources in order to keep your planeswalkers free and clear to take over the game.
Early Game
Ideally this deck wants to turn one hand disruption, turn two smallpox, turn three threat. The early disruption and asymmetry of using flagstones and lingering souls for smallpox gains this deck an advantage. However, even if you can't get a flagstones down it is still usually advised to smallpox early if there is a available land in hand and either a souls to be discarded to smallpox or a bitterblossom. Ideally the first three mana spell will be mentor as the prowess triggers can win games. Hopefully turn four will lead for a planeswalker to take over the game. Sorin(s) are for life gain , Gideon heavy hitter aggro, LotV for control.
It is important to have by turn two and by turn four. This way smallpox can be cast on time and Gideon can be dropped to close out the game.
Mid Game
If everything has gone to plan and there is no a clogged board of tokens that is front of a few planeswalkers then usually it is not too hard to close out the game from this point by making the opponent function on little resources. I have found that the mid game is usually pretty straight forward if this the case. However, if the opponent deploys a sweeper it may be more difficult. Usually though sweepers don't get both creatures and planeswalkers which allows to slowly build back up. This is also the stage of the game where your life total can become a concern and might need to be conserved.
Late Game
Generally speaking this deck peaks out in the mid game. If it reaches late game then the general plan is that on mid game keep the board clear and let your planeswalkers do the work.
General
This variation of B/W smallpox really came out of a local meta that is mostly Tron and combo. I can happily say that it does it's job most of the time. There really isn't a better feeling then turn two smallpoxing away a tower then surgical extracting the tower
Side board needs adjusting for a larger meta but at the moment I am mostly playing in a smaller group and have my side board accordingly.
This is my first posting on the forum (though have been using it for years for primers etc.) so I apologize for the lack of quality in these descriptions (as well as grammatical and spelling errors....... dyslexia is fun gang)
