Just noticed that the "I like this" button was moved from below the avatar/basic info to the bottom of the post. I know it was just a small cosmetic change, but what other changes fly under the radar?
Was wondering if there is a thread, somewhere, where all of us can go to see the weekly/monthly changes, regardless of how significant they are.
And if there isn't one, would it make sense for there to be one? I sure would like a chance to see what changes are going on, regardless of their importance.
EDIT: on the note of the "thanks" button, now you can't hover/click the #'s to see who has thanked you...
This is something we'll try to do a little better in the future, although there were only a couple of things that changed that we hadn't previously said were coming.
I use to post up the "upcoming" changes, but it had issues. Some of the changes wouldn't roll out with the others, as a problem was larger than anticipated, had issues rolling out, etc. We'd also get last minute additions on things, so we'd get things unlisted. Those threads had very little views and almost no responses as well.
We don't always get a completely comprehensive list of changes before hand. As they go in and roll out the updates, they sometimes add things in that are on our request list if they have time. Completely blind changes - ie: ones we have haven't specifically requested or see coming - are rare, but that was the case in the upvote moving. Although some of ours users have complained that it added extra blank space to short posts, we didn't specifically request the change. Other sites that use the Cobalt did, and as it was seen as an overall upgrade, and we didn't all like it here, it was included for us.
But again, I'll start doing the "Recent Changes" in the Feedback Forum.
I've actually started the thread, just hadn't had time to list all of the changes yet.
(We're also getting more updates tomorrow, but you shouldn't notice them - or at least 99% of them)
So this was a site change....I've been thinking the site was just broken all day. Can't say I like the placement of the "thanks" box. I've never seen a forum that places it there. Also the top part where the user names and PM section is located is very tiny now..
