MTGnews, or MTGNews, is a Magic: The Gathering online forum, formerly the main source of spoilers for the Magic: The Gathering online community.
History
MTGnews was founded by Ray Yu, or DG as Land of Destoguardiana, a Magic: The Gathering website, which eventually became part of the CCGnews network. In 2001, the forums switched to vBulletin software, which has been used ever since.
In 2002, Ray Yu was involved in a motor accident, which kept him from accessing the site for several months, forcing the staff of the forum to take over roles by had done, until NightDakkon, a friend of DG's, came to assist. However, DG was never as active as he was before the accident, and the various volunteer moderators began to exercise more influence on the website.
In early 2004, DG posted on the main page of the website stating that he would be closing the website after one month. Soon after, however, he changed his mind, and allowed the site to be sold. After a long process, Raa of findmagiccards.com won, becoming Webmaster and Owner of MTGnews.
On January 1st, 2005, much of the forum staff resigned from their positions, in protest of Raa's inaction in basic website features. It is uncertain whether MTGnews will continue to stay the premier resource for Magic: The Gathering rumors in the coming years.
Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
Unfortuantley that about sums it up. While I wasn't around in the days of DG, I read through the retired forums with al his posts and stuff. He seemed like a great guy. I guess I just caught 'News on the tail end.

Having 'MTGnews' on Wikipedia hurts Wikipedia's credibility. That thing is a comprehensive encyclopedia written by scholars and well-learned individuals. To have definitions and histories of something insignificant in the big scheme of things hurts their credibility. Just delete it all.

Wikipedia is larger than a normal encyclopedia, Saka. If it's to be deleted, it'll happen under Votes for Deletion, not randomly.

MT have had a page for awhile now. I like how there are some small niche definitions in Wiki.
Part of the point of Wikipedia is that you can look up just about anything and find something about it. If you don't, you can contribute by writing an entry yourself. It shouldn't matter whether it's a website or a historical event, if it's information, it's allowed on there.
I personally think an encyclopedia created that way has a lot more credibility to me than a bunch of people without the entire internet as their editors.
I deleted the entry because it was terribly bias and really worthless, it didn't say anything except for how Salavation was borne which is a blow to wikipedia which is known for being very creditable. The article didn't even know DGs real name, what is that worth to anyone?
It was just a terrible written article, if it where well done I would of left it.
The article should simply explain how it was started and what it is about, also if mtg salvation does work out, I believe it is a bit to early to begin writing it in Wikipedia.
Edit: The new one is better but only a bit, a lot of information that doesn't need to be there please revise it otherwise I will.

I agree to the point that mention of this place needs to be done towards Magic communities, not to the public in general who has no idea what CCGs are, let alone Magic.
Shameless Plug Alert: I'll be mentioning this site in my next The Weekly Shuffle at the Casual Players Alliance. Not the biggest of advertising for this site, but hey, at least somebody out there will mention you guys.
At this point i think any advertisement at all is a benefit, so even if the article is poorly written atleast it is there, we need to get the word out that mtgsalvation is the place to be!

EDIT: I also added the recent banning of Annorax to the Wiki about Tings. As I continue, I realize that the Magic community is a sad place right now.
I have no extendo-sig. Sorry, I'm just not vain enough to think someone will click on it.
