I'm confused by this. Basically, it reads to me as commonsense, perfunctory legalese, or something. In any case, I think this is good, even if I don't understand this completely. Well done (anyway)!
If you could explain this, that'd be appreciated.

The basic gist is that we're fine with potentially controversial stuff, but if it takes a negative turn, we're going to step in with a modtext "back on track, people" kind of warning. If users ignore this warning, then the thread may be closed and, depending on circumstances, users might be carded. It also emphasizes that we'll be enforcing the forum rules as usual, although we'll try to be lenient where we can since WCT is a casual conversation kind of subforum.
Absolutely fantastic. Im happy to see that something was put together that (it seems) quite literally everyone can agree with :). Im glad that in the end, people were able to come together to create this, and special thanks go to Megs and Bel for helping, with assistance of the WCT mods themselves, hammer this out so we can all move on and focus more on enjoying the site, which Im sure we would all much rather be doing (I know I certainly am looking forward to it!)
This rule has taken a lot of work by a lot of people to put in, and it needs a thorough testing period. We're asking that people just watch the enforcement for two weeks. After two weeks, Megiddo will make a thread in Community Issues to discuss the rule and any potential tweaks it may need.
I really like this version. Good job, everyone who had a hand in making it. I think you(all of you) addressed our concerns on both ends, making a rule that didn't neuter the mods ability to moderate but left us enough room to have actual discussion that isn't always a debate. And in cases where "the streams might start crossing", the redirecting of the thread back to wct waters is a great way to handle it.
Because conservative bias is a far, far worse thing. Liberal bias doesn't, statistically speaking, make people stupid. Conservative bias (or at least Fox's version of it) does.

Given the response, I'm comfortable taking this live, so we should be underway sometime this evening.

Oh, you addressed that later.

This is good. This is really good. That's legitimately the full extent of what I have to say.
Damn fine work.
