Ria's was an admin for quite some time before this (promotion/demotion). He has been able to royally screw with the site for some time.
Not to the same degree, mind you, but still pretty badly.
Feyd_Ruin went from active site technician to less-than-active site technician. I need something sure.
How about my track record? I've been dedicated to this site for years now, I came to work when I was on holiday on the other side of the world, & it sounds like I will have a bank of technicians at my back. Show some faith.
As for my part, I promise not to turn you all into blue meanies or vanish utterly, ok?

Whoa. Maybe it's the fact that text is a poor conductor of the depth and richness of communication; but, the way I've read this isn't exactly the response I was expecting (if any, though).
I guess I might have some abandonment issues to worth through after Feyd dogged us of all, haha. Thank you, rianalnn, for what you've done, what you're doing, and what you'll do. I have hope and faith in you (better?).

What he meant to point out is that in the past no one has looked over the technician's shoulder, so if you stopped logging into this site there would be no contact.

Wizards of the Coast was bought by Hasbro in 1999. It has been significantly better off with the backing of a much larger company.
Before that, WotC acquired the rights to D&D. It to saw stark improvements afterward (notably the release of 3rd edition).
I'm pretty sure you've had some investment in one or both, so there's some examples.
While I could wish for a "Best of Moderators" hit list (like Furor to come back)

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,

but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.

Off topic here (and my opinion), but im pretty sure the only reason the reprint policy isnt abolished or anything is b/c of that Big Brother Hasbro....can't possibly upset investors. Aaron Forsythe has said himself he doesn't like it, but there is nothing he can do about it.
From reading this thread, it seems more and more that the Curse deal will be a good thing. I just really hope it doesn't mess with any of MTGS' Rumor Mill and Market Street workings.

Unless something drastic occurs, that won't happen
I guess OP wants it to be 'keyworded' like "dies" was. What word would you replace ETB with though?
When Aegis Angel is born?
When Huntmaster of the Fells arrives?
When Kitchen Sphinx lands?
When Faerie Imposter busts in?
When Dread Cacodemon pops in?
When Malfegor shows up?

I've asked but Hannes has not said as yet. Guessing yes but we'll be sure to let everyone know either way.
Hannes has said the mc.info is his baby & will never sell it
Fortunately for us we are not undergoing any sort of "restructuring" as might happen with Bain...

That's probably one of the best things about all this. I have to be honest, that site is simply the best for what it does that it could be.
Honestly, I'd assume that if Curse is extending to MTG, they could/would set up their own card database, simply because they have similar things for every other game they do.
Mc.info is however really good, so if we will still be able to use it, they may not need to. I assume however, that they can.

I was provided "inside information" from a now-banned member of the forums concerning what "really" is going on. Part of what I have done - and am doing - is talking to a source of mine who has been with Curse for some time. He has been involved with several "acquisitions" as he likes to call them, though he is not completely familiar with any talks or acquisition of MTGSalvation (to quote him: "Magic's for *****es, learn to play Hearts like a man!")
I told ExpiredRascals about this information being provided. I was nervous that an overreaction might occur on the part of the staff in order to "silence" anyone who might know something they shouldn't, or might "spill the beans". I told Expired that I would not be posting the information I received from this person (It was N_S, apparently). Mainly, I'll admit this was because I was nervous about the damage control (read: banhammer) that seems to come along with any type of information that is provided to the public-at-large that we are not supposed to know about.
I want to make clear I am not taking sides here. I am not a fan of Curse; their download section is shoddy, allowing far too many viruses to infect computers, and this is especially if you use the "Download Client" for updates or what-have-you. I digress.
What struck me as off, though, is one of the claims made in the PM I received from N_S. Without going into too much detail, he is pretty much claiming that certain members were enticed by the staff to leak sensitive information, and thus begin the bannings that occurred. I wasn't too keen to believe this, but I checked over a few things I have seen from sources outside of this one and saw a slight pattern. I'm awaiting official confirmation right now from my source, but he did say the following:
If there was a rash of bannings because of some type of leaked information, I can assure you Curse didn't have a hand in it. At least, they didn't have a direct hand. I am not going to go into any more than that right now, because I will need to check with someone to confirm the validity of the information you provided. But as of right now, assume good faith on the part of Curse.
I am taking that as it stands. I don't know completely what happened, but I want to make clear that if and when I know something, I will provide it. If this forums is to function and flourish, people must be made aware of what is going on, with-in reason.
As I promised Rascals, the information N_S provided will remain safe in my inbox and will not see the light of day on these forums, provided the staff remains honest and true to the userbase. Don't **** with us on this one, because this does affect us. And believe me, there is NOTHING a company like Curse wants to see less than a bunch of pissed-off forumgoers running to the blogs and presses to ***** about this. Blogs such as MMO-Champion would love a story like this, and I don't want to see that happen.
If it comes down to it, I will provide a link to my story if and when I write it up.

No news is not good news. You're saying in the past two months, nothing has happened in this regard? Are negotiations ongoing?
I fear there may be a "Your forum is gone. Now!" type thing if/when.
No, he's not saying nothing has happened necessarily. He's saying there is no news that the staff is at liberty to share (or potentially no news that the staff is aware of). That does not mean nothing is happening.
I know if I was interested in purchasing a forum, and someone on staff went out of their way to try and scuttle the deal I'd restrict my discussions to the owner and give the giant finger to the staff until the deal was locked in.
But, more to the point, it would make absolutely no sense for curse to buy out MTGS only to shut it down. The forum isn't going to disappear anytime soon, even if it does get bought out.
Not the forum as a whole, but some of the sub-forums.
For example, the NSFW Creative Writing forum. I'd like a bit more notice than "by the way, we took it down" if/when.
We already know that The Gutter will be flushed if/when. Not that that means anything with the current state thereof, and all the brouhaha that occured in the past.
How about we turn off the rampant speculation again? Right now there is no new information. When new information is available, they will let us know. For now just chill and enjoy what you want to enjoy and when the time comes we'll get at least some advanced notice of whats going to happen.
