A while back I rigged the censors to make all instances of the word "retarded" to be little pictures of donuts. It did a great job of keeping the word out, but also was a bit too silly for the others.
"*****" is a weird one because of the verb form.
I do miss my donuts.

Ugh... I hate that word so much! It's just so awful.
It's still got sexist undertones even when used in that context, because it basically stems from the stereotype that women are whiners, complainers, naggers, etc.
What about using the word "whore?"
Are there good times to use that, or is it always offensive?
I've seen threads in Debate on prostitution and the like, so using it there would be appropriate. But simply calling someone/something a whore pejoratively is offensive.
This one's interesting because it implies that "whore" must default to female and that a man who's a "whore" needs a different category established for him because just calling him a "whore" somehow doesn't work.
Many of the words that would be used pejoratively describe male prostitutes (who sleep with other men) are also aimed negatively at gay men in general (Twink) for instance.
Despite the similar effect on the psyche it's not nearly as shameful to be a "cabana boy" or a "cub". Many of these designations imply it's more dominant to be the one doing the penetrating than the one being penetrated. After all a woman or a "bottom" (is that sexist?) cannot force an erection sans chemicals. In a round about way what society seems to be praising is actually the ability to gain an erection.
Thus going back to "raped" as in "I raped that zoo deck, or my deck just rapes" implies dominance over the other deck. This has actually translated over to MTG from the video game culture (and a good mix of porn targeted at this age range). The more mature a person, the less likely they are to say it as they understand what a foul thing rape is.
Edit: See also "Bent that deck over" "jizzed all over that deck". In theory even though there are no filters against those words this type of description should be treated equal to misuse of rape.
We seem to draw the line at sexual misconduct as it seems to be offensive. Most people wouldn't have an issue with someone saying "Black decks murder blue ones" or "bant takes zoo to the woodshed".
Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.

It's why I usually default to saying "Prostitute" when the discussion comes up, but that's a bigger, longer word. I don't want to sound smarter than I am.
Rape is often discussed in Debate, so it wouldn't be something to censor as far as I understand.
If I say I r*ped someone in a game, I am clearly not saying that I sexually assaulted them. Yes, I know that's where it originated from, but people don't bat an eye when people call each other *****s.
Edit: which is oddly censored. If you can't tell, it's the alternate, generally socially accepted form of the Spanish word for "black".

Most people actually do bat an eye when people call each other that. Sometimes slang is bad.

In my experience, it's peoples' lack of understanding that causes them to wince when they say or hear it. Or their distaste for it. But it's often used in a non-condescending context.

Bllllaaaahhh, it is past time people let go of such negative connotations. I am white, all 3 of my nephews are mixed, and everyone in my family can sit back and laugh while throwing the term back and forth. I recognize this may not be the case for everyone, but the times are changing. And with the times, negative implications in language also change.
Although, for any dummy who would walk into a room and use the word negatively, their blood is on their own hands
Considering it is used everywhere in the rap industry and in modern black culture, I just don't believe it is as bad as people make it out to be.
I'm pretty sure MTGS has enough racial diversity to not qualify for the usage you described.

Two words: white guilt
Not really. It's a derogatory racial slur. It need not imply any guilt on the speaker's part. Just because some people use it in an endearing manner doesn't make it appropriate outside of the subculture that has reappropriated it.

It can be, but people very often don't use it as one.
I don't want this to become a race argument. I don't think r*pe is a bad word in all contexts, I've provided my case. Let's keep it on that.

Technically it's always offensive. Just like the word ****.
It has derogatory connotations just like the word **** has derogatory connotations despite the clear definition of promiscuous woman.
Let me ask a question. Is there a word for promiscuous male?
The expected answer here is "stud." And it's seen as being positive. "****" is basically shaming women for the same thing men get praised for.
The actual issue goes deeper than that, but this should be enough to highlight the misogyny at work here, and why words like "****" are problematic.
Actually there's "womanizer" and "philanderer" although we do hear "****" quite a bit.
"Manwhore."

I've never heard "bottom" used in a negative fashion, at least on its own. As far as I've ever seen it, it's entirely neutral.
If we did, then that'd make at least one card rather awkward to talk about.

There's a difference between black people using it and white people using it. The former is reclamation. The latter is appropriation.
