A number of users believe that any sort of advantage, be it drawing a card or knowing what you can expect in a box is similar to murder, rape, and any other sort of capitally punished crime.
For many users box mapping is nothing more than solving a puzzle, some users may make money on it, though I really don't see that being possible without spending thousands of dollars on product.
There are stores that map their product, and these stores will do so whether we do it or not, because they get their map before we do, and they spend money most players couldn't imagine a game store making.
There is a faction of this forum that believes everything and everyone involved in the secondary market is evil, and this obviously falls into that category. Listening to these members is like listening to any extremist group; they will never be satisfied, and listening to them will only make them more boisterous in their opinions.
I personally do not look at box maps, I do not use them, because I only ever open a box or two when a set comes out. I can not personally see the harm in allowing this discussion.

Without the posts on this board, there are maybe three or so organizations who would have access to the map: WotC (they made it), TCGPlayer (a store system big enough to simultaneously stock themselves and create a rare map), and maybe one of the bigger companies that can spend the capital (SCG).
Basically, I think the MTGS should maintain the ban until someone makes a post on the general forums that another site will commonly create and post a box map, then that info needs to be made more public, here.

Why do I like posting in lists:
1. It allows me to express multiple thoughts without a need to write an essay or make multiple posts. 2. I tend to have multiple thoughts at the same time. 3. Having the right first opinion is sometimes more glorious than having a grammatically correct second opinion. 4. It allows you as a reader to pick out the most erroneous point and counter-comment, allowing you the chance to express an opinion and look like a sensible person when I sound like a dummy.

Because this is totally the only website on the internet.

Really, I can't believe MTGS does. Unlike Rare-Mapping, a common/uncommon map's sole purpose can only be for cheating.
