It felt like it was time to retire the old report thread for bad advertisements.
This thread is for reporting all of those problematic and distasteful ads that really shouldn't be showing up on your screen. We're very careful with the ad providers that we use to service MTG Salvation, and use very thorough guidelines to ensure only acceptable ads reach you while browsing the site. Every once in a while something will slip through, and when that happens, we need your help in reporting the problems so that we can fix them posthaste.
For your reference, we ALREADY block the following kinds of ads:
Male health (e.g. Viagra)
Adult
Alcohol
Gambling
Sweepstakes
Suggestive (typically sexually provocative)
Tobacco
Excessive flashing
Warning (e.g. ad that appears to be a warning window from your computer)
Uninitiated audio (audio starts playing without user enabling)
Pop-under (pop-up window that appears behind current window)

HOW YOU CAN HELP
Static Ad - What to do if you see something weird, offensive, or ugly:
Right-click on the ad --> select ‘Properties’
Copy & paste the ‘Location URL’
Right-click on the ad --> select ‘Copy Link Location’ (Firefox) or ‘Copy Shortcut’ (Internet Explorer)
Paste the URL (this is the click-through URL)
Send these two URLs to Boubouille along with the URL of the page where you saw the ad
The location URL and click-through URL will provide the image-hosting server (usu. the ad network) and any other information necessary to take action.
Flash Ad - What to do if you see something weird, offensive, or ugly:
Take a screenshot of the browser window (Alt+Print Screen… to the right of the F12 key)
Send screenshot along with URL of the page where you saw the ad
Any other information you can provide will be helpful, such as which browser and which version of browser you were using, approximate number of pages you viewed on the web site before seeing the ad, and country from which the ad was viewed (if outside the United States)
Grabbing the URL of a flash ad requires an add-on or tool to view the HTTP headers when a page loads. Given this, the easiest way to take action is for us to reproduce the occurrence. If you're using Firefox go in Tools > Page Info > Media, look for anything that says "Embed" on the right and do a right click > copy to report this address in your mail as well.

Some of you may also encounter seen diet/weight loss ads. This kind of ad does not fall into any existing category. It’s not adult-themed, sexually suggestive, dealing with alcohol or tobacco, etc. If anything, it falls under “Wellness,” which is generally considered to be a good thing, so it doesn’t go through any filters. This is generally how sub-par ads reach us. If you see any ads that you feel don’t belong on our site, please follow the directions above.
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Got an ad just now for Windows Phone that just about blasted out my eardrums. Closed the browser before I could get a screenshot. Probably one of those "new and improved" ads at the bottom off the screen. IMO sound is the worst thing a banner ad can have.

I was browsing the main forum page on my iPad while listening to music in my headphones. I had to kill the process as I couldn't get the sound stopped. My browser at the time only had MTGS up. It was some woman talking about her phone.

Yet here we are, w/ another banner ad that is waaayyy our of place. FYI: I am using Firefox as my browser.
This is a Magic: the Gathering website, so I figured the banner ads would match up with the community (w/ factors like target audience & demographics).
So why would a banner ad (meaning the one in the image attached) be the type that tricks the user into clicking on it, w/ a lame game (in the past they would flash things like "Winner!"). I think accepting advertisements like this were below us. Are we seeing ads like this because we were bought out by Curse Client? Or is it just because those who make the ad decisions think the site is hurting financially, so any banner ad is taken.
My beef with this particular banner ad is that it links you to a site (that is obviously there to spam you and sell your info to other spammers).
EDIT: Funny, I tried like hell to find the banner to get the url, but nothing has come up. Was it taken care of that quickly?
I just got a flash-based ad with sound and all the other nastiness. I stumbled across the offender in CI at 7:55 local time (9:55 AM EST). Unfortunately, I was not able to get a URL or anything else, since when I right-clicked the Ad to try to pull up the information, all it was doing was trying to give me information about Flash itself, not the advertisement being played.
I do however, have a screenshot. However, I was fiddling around with the settings and therefore, there's an information box in front of the ad. The screenshot that I do have has been attached.

Overly aggressive ad: When surfing over to the Multiplayer EDH area the advertisement forced opened my device's android market place and pulled up the application "candy cruch" urging the user to install it.
a little more info on the overly agressive ad that keeps opening the android mkt place for candy crunch saga. the one url i can gleam before it redirects is adtrack.king.com. it is making using the site on my android devices painful.
Once again, an ad here hijacked the Safari browser on my ipad and took me to a page for Ron Jeremy's Sex Pills. I'm on my ipad, so I can't get the information as described above.
I am frequently getting the app-store relocating ad for candy crush on my phone, both here and tcgplayer. I thought it might be malware so I googled it and found http://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/chrome/EDJTbPaW5dg which suggests it is a cookie based ad from CPMFun. This is really bad UX.
One of the ads on rotation today (18/03/2013) is crashing my browser (Firefox 19 / Win Vista) with 100% reliability. Unfortunately I can't actually say what's doing this, because I never actually see the ad in question. Wasn't happening yesterday, though.
Needless to say this is quite annoying.

Apple iphone user here. Gettin a full fledged redirect for candy crush saga in the mafia forums. Page loads up then immediately hits a scripted page redirect to an adtrack URL that forces my app store to open to their game. This kind of behavior from an ad is unacceptable. Please have it removed.
so do i, it's VERY annoying to try and find the link to the site and pause the video. i don't hear them because my speakers are off, but it's pestering when i listen to music and they pop on.
I was here http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/forumdisplay.php?f=45 and got an ad with sound that autoplays for Windows 8 that turned into a hockey game at the end of it. Both were flash based. Tried to get a screenshot, but my computer wouldn't let me.
EDIT: Just got a face lotion one at the same location. Got a screenshot this time.
Jace bounce was a -1. He could do it 3 times before he would die. Liliana can only do it once before having to do her +1. Overall very disappointed with her unless we get Madness.
Crap, you're right, she's not as good as one of the single most overpowered cards ever printed. Unplayable!
