When I sit down for a game of Magic, I notice more and more that my opponent has some sort of trinket/charm/random junk that they use for good luck, conversation or whatever. More often than not it is some sort of MTG related item (card, token, miniature, etc.). So I got to thinking, what type of trinket can I bring to the table to strike fear into my opponent? Naturally, I want something to demonstrate the Ass Whuppin' I'm about to dish out. And with inspiration from last years Worlds feature article about Seishiro Ookubo’s 3-D magic craft I went out, did a little trading, and here you have it.
May I never play against you ever. A nice job. Would've been nice to have certain areas cut a little cleaner, but I'm not the one making it, so no complaints. Good work!
I went to the Unhinged release event and it was fun. You didn't need to use all promos, right? Regular foils would have worked for the non-enlarged symbol, non dated layers, no?
It's a little rough in places, but it's one of the better home-made ones I've seen. I've still yet to try that for myself but when I do I'll probably start off with a card that's a bit more expendable to hone my skills.

That's correct. I could have used only 1 promo foil to make the card, since the stamp and text box are on the same layer, but I only have the promo foil ones. Tis' okay. I still have more.

This is true. And I've only done a select few cards so this one was like my second or third atempt. One thing I did notice since then is that foil cards act very differently when cut then normal cards do. The cards get very discolored near the cut. Also, every card bends slightly when they are cut due to the multiple layers of the cardboard. The foil effect just magnifies this bend so although some parts may seem very rough (a few spots on this card look more rough then they actually are) from a distance, they aren't so bad..
Here' s a more recent card I've done. If you look close enough to the edges of the text box you can see the bend I'm talking about. And just as an FYI, all the straight cuts made on this card were made with the help of a ruler.
very impressive, ive never seen somebody do that before. any tips for people who may want to give it a try themselves?

Something which also bugs me, on a slightly similar topic, is non-mammals with big mammaries. Snakes with tatas? Birds with boobies? Insects with jubblies?

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.
First choose a card you'd like to "3-D"
Choose the number of layers you'd like to have get that many of chosen card
You will need 2-5 extra copies just incase of mess ups
Take the first one and don't cut this one at all (it will be your back) lay it down face up
Choose what areas are the "Backround"
Then with an exacto knife cut out the "backround" of the second card
Lay ontop of the first face up, and glue together.
Then choose what is exactly infront of the backround this is your "secondary backround"
Then with an exacto knife cut out the "backround" and the "secondary backround" of the third card
Lay ontop of the glued together cards face up and glue
then alot of repeating (choosing the next closer layer, cutting out any previous layers and glueing to the top) will ensue.
Then when you are done you have a 3-d card!!!
Having troubles choosing layers use this picture to help you out
this shows an exelent job on how to cut layers.
Another hint is always leave on the previous layer what is going on the next layer, helps for reinforcement of the card.
