The psychology of art on magic cards, does it have any relivence on how the game is played? I think so, at my local store's 9e release i noticed that players seemed to be alot more aggresive with lanowar elves. Useally whenever i saw somone playing, they were holding them back even though they had a hole to attack through. Now since the art has been given a more vicious-looking upgrade, more and more people have been attacking with it then normal. Also for some reason ive been seing Lanowar behemoth being used alot more then it did in 8th, i dont know if the card jsut suddenly got better in this enviroment or it just looks more pleasent to look at then the old art. If anyone else has seen more occourcences of acts like this feel free to post them here. If this is in the worng section i apolgise and if it could be moved that would be great. I thought it would work best here since some of mtgsalvation's artists may have more experience with how art affects people then I do.
Of course. I mean, take the two most obvious examples: Blinking Spirit (Ice Age version) and Whippoorwill. Those things have wings, yet so very often, people assumed they had flying, even because they were in the act of flying. I guess it's true for Llanowar Elves, although I don't know how often they were used in 7th Edition. Frankly, that does not look like a druid at all, but meh.
