Challenge in February "Choose one of Ravnica's guilds and paint a picture showing the guild leader ("Parun") sitting on a throne and making decisions. Your piece must follow the following guideline:
- The Parun is sitting on a throne, wearing a crown or another symbol of power
- The background features the guild symbol
- The color palette you use must center around the two colors the guild is associated with (e.g. red/white for Boros)"

Guys, you are amazing! After having a very successful month in January, the entries we received for February are again very, very good, not to say impressive It is great to see that new people in this forum feel encouraged to take part and demonstrate their talent.
Before presenting the entries, I would like to remind you of two things:
1. You can vote for more than one artist, feel invited to do so.
2. Please consider how each entry fulfilled the challenge outlined above before you vote - you are the scoring judge!
Alright, without further ado, here are the entries of February. The first entry is best viewed in the dark.
The Emortal
House Dimir (:symu::symb:), Lazav
Zombie Shakespeare
House Dimir(:symu::symb:), Lazav
Tsjagatai
Gruul Clans (:symr::symg:), Borborygmos
"I atteptempted to create a gruul-ish atmosphere depicting the burning-tree clan having ransacked a formerly civilized part of ravnica. With Borborygmos seated on his throne of ruins and his followers revelling in yet another victory! "
Jenn021379
Cult of Rakdos (:symr::symb:), Radea
"This is Raeda, spawn of Rakdos. While Rakdos slumbers, his mischievious demon child Raeda controls the Cult of Rakdos with destructive glee and theatrical torment.
Color pencil and microns on layout paper.
I decided to do Rakdos because after reading the style guide for RTR I really had this concept of "carnage and candy" burst out of my head as this sadist demon girl who was both child-like and stubborn, yet dangerous, unable to bear the wait for the next bloody performance her members would regale her with. Tried to stay with the sort of harlequin dominatrix feel the Rakdos Cult art has been giving off "
My votes are for Tsjagatai because his design is beautiful, gorgeous, and professional quality, like something I'd see on a promotional banner displayed at my local game and comic store, and Jenn021379 because I love the 'crazy anime chick' angle. Instead of a throne, she's a makeshift swing of chains used in the Rakdos dungeons, and her shadow conveying her true demonic nature is a nice touch.
tsajangatai, because not only does he show one of my favorite guilds(gruul), but it also shows all the tribe and it represents them nicely too... and it looks good...
My vote goes to The Emortal. It is the closest to what I had in mind when posting the challenge and I really dig the simplicity of this piece. Lazav sitting in the dark on his throne like a spider, breeding his evil thoughts - thats fantastic. The way how he dealt with the crown/symbol of power is creative: Having the guild symbol form a metaphoric crown around his head is a surprising and clever detail. Great!
Tsjagatai... I think there is not much to say here. Again a very impressive demonstration of skill. It seems a new champion has emerged and will be difficult to beat! However, there is too much going on in this piece for my personal taste, I would have preferred a stronger focus on the parun and less on surrounding details.
Actually I wanted to vote for Jenn too, but was a click too fast. Pity! I like the concept of her entry: That the parun is sitting on a string of chains in stead of a throne makes sense for a little demon brat like her, and having her shadow merge with a hint of the guild symbol in the background is good idea too.
I'm sad I wasn't able to finish mine in time. I had a Borborygmos piece as well, though he was sitting on a throne of corpses. Vote goes to Tsjagatai, because although the piece is really rough, it depicts Gruul very nicely.
Well, what can I say regarding my votes? All entries are amazing. I just felt that voting for all of them would have been pointless, so I decided to cut one of them down before making my votes. I decided that Jenn's, even when it is great at the style he proposed, did seem to be the one with less "Parun feeling" to me. Also, I'm not a big fan of the manga style, so this helped me to choose the one I wouldn't vote for (sorry Jenn, I had to, but your entry still being great )
Belive me, if voting for everyone would have made any sense, I would have done so.
Congrats to all the entrants! You are all winners, beside any poll result.
